I've voted no because of the disparity between age groups.

Agreed - for the interest of balance, as its not 7% throughout.

Adults in the most expensive standard seating areas rise from £579.50 to £599.50, a rise of around 3.5pc

I understand we have many OAPs struggling in this country. But so are plenty below retirement age.

It's hard to justify why a generation who had jobs for life, affordable housing, free higher education and gold-plated pensions should pay £200 less than everyone else.

That’s pretty selective, I could counter that by saying that someone aged 18-21 and living at home probably has more disposable cash than any of the other age groups 😉

I can see from the voting that 2 of the votes in agreement have been cast by OSP members.

Would be interesting to have their input on what was discussed / shared (in as much as they can say without breaking any trusts of course) to justify / sell this increase to them.

I think Wolfie said somewhere he would give a little more detail when the official press release was made. (apologies if ive imagined that, or missed it somewhere else)

So the £200 discount should go to OAPs on Pension Credit, and younger people on benefits.

Football clubs always seem to run on two parallel footings. The business side, ie the admin, shop/retail, customers/ fans (ST's memberships etc)  which is always run on a tight shoe string, like any other customer facing facility.

The other, footballing side, which whilst it has its limits and restrictions, but it has a totally different parameters.

It always hard to distinguish between the two, when the former is affecting our pockets, and the later is paying the players £000's a week.

Indeed FF the generation that thinks nothing of having a £50 a month mobile phone bill, who do not blink at paying £100 plus for a pair of trainers not to mention adorning themselves with hundreds of pounds worth of tattoos.

If you are going to increase it then the level of increase is fair but as I’ve said before I don’t think any increase is currently appropriate when we have the premier league tv monies or parachute payments.

Reason for voting No is the typical price increase of 7% will only enable the Club to raise its wage bill by 1% which will effectively make no difference to the quality of footballer we are able to attract.

Also why different percentage rises in different categories when there hasn't been any resolution of historical anomalies?

Yeah, sure thing. The OSP attended a meeting with the club concerning ST prices, at which (I believe) all members of the panel were present either in person or via Zoom.

The club posited that they were considering raising ST prices due to there having been no increase for nine years, and presented a range of options (including no increase) that we discussed.

The club acknowledged that in hindsight it was probably a mistake to have left them frozen for as long as nine years, but the current executive team have only been in charge for half that time, and the most recent two seasons have been affected by the pandemic.

If I remember correctly (and I'm sure @Lessingham Canary and/or @ncfcstar will correct me if I'm wrong), the meeting lasted around two hours. A lot of views were put forward, many of which have been discussed on this thread – including pricing tiers (including rates for children and OAPs), cost of living, supply/demand, waiting lists, the impact of the pandemic etc.

Although there were some members who were initially sceptical about the price rise, after much discussion we unanimously agreed that some level of rise was necessary. We didn't reach any specific consensus about exactly what level of increase would be ideal, although 5-10% as a 'ballpark figure' was deemed justifiable.

I'm not aware whether any other supporters' groups were consulted about this, by the way – the meeting was solely between club representatives and the OSP.

Thanks Wolfie. It is good to know that at least some consultation with supporters took place.

To say it was a mistake not to have raised prices sooner implies that NCFC fans would now face even higher charges than other clubs.

Not sure how "necessary' it is for the Club to raise £600 to £700k which as I have argued would at the end of the day add only 1% or so to the Clubs wage bill.  Better to forego that 1% in my opinion..

Still this is probably more consultation than they have undertaken in the recent past so hope you are able to develop the thought processes in future with benchmarking to other clubs and perhaps deal with some of the anomalies such as under 18 prices being substantially different in rwo different parts of the ground whilst under 21s in the same two parts are the same.

Cheers Wolfie - appreciate the reply - and insight.

Ill have a think and possibly formulate a reply when i get out of this tree with @FenwayFrank and @TIL 1010!

Youre welcome to join us, if you wish, and @wcorkcanarytoo - come aboard.

Why thank you  kind sir but I must  politely  decline, I am a Lady and would never show my ankles, let alone my bloomers by climbing  a Tree.  Though should a gentleman  offer an afternoon tea in suitable surroundings,  I and my chaperone  would look kindly upon such an invitation.

Splendid Corkio what a magnificent suggestion - I look forward the the trio outing, so much better than the usual duels / joisting contests  one frequently encounters on this establishment.

I will get my people to speak to your people and go from there.

I bid you good day.

You are too kind, and rather splendidly dashing. I must recline before I swoon. Adieu.  Bon Chance! Though I trust you will not play with my affections by continuing your arboreal  antics with F&T, I am , after all , a Lady.

Very odd thought why would the club want to attract peasants with little or no disposable income to the club

socialist nonsense

If course it's not fair. But then there's not much about football that is fair. The increase should be on TV subscriptions and penalties against those who watch illegal streams. Our supporters who go to games are now TV extras and should probably be paid as such.

Brilliant! Looks like you have seen the light. Better than anything I have ever proposed. Let them pay us the £11 million rather than the other way round.

Well duck my old boots. You're the last person I'd imagine would spin my post in to "anti-club/punish our club" rhetoric.

I think it's usual for TV companies to pay their extras.
