Placheta v Rasicha

Recommended Posts

Not trying to put a downer on what was a fantastic evening, but the difference between these two is stark. He works hard but has nothing to his game and no wonder we couldn’t get anything going offensively when he had a run of games over Christmas.

The break we had at the end of the game when Idah was in acres, timed his run beautifully, then Placheta waits to give the pass and weights it HORRIBLY. Adam was furious.

Need Milot fit and Placheta to warm the bench until we’re winding the clock down…

Rashica has been playing regular senior men's football since the age of 16.

He's played more than double the name of career games.

I'm not saying you are wrong, I'm just saying there is context. It is unlikely that Placheta will ever be anwhere near as good as Rashica, but the gap might not be as wide if we were comparing a 239 game Placheta with a 239 game Rashica.

Placheta needs more starts somewhere, if we stay up then should probably get a full season somewhere and the come back - bet he'll look much improved.

It’s more a comment on how little Smith has to work with when you need to rely on Placheta to put a decent attack together. He’s surely played enough football to weight a pass. I agree it’s no groundbreaking comment to say Milot is the better player, but the drop off in quality is massive.

My mindsight at the minute is....

Gives 100% on the pitch and keeps themselves fit and ready?

Yes = Thanks, get my support.

No = Get the f*ck out of my club, you don't deserve to wear the shirt.

And on that basis, got no problem with Placheta and he isn't our worst wide player.

I think Placheta again has the basics of a good player. He's a Poland international and well thought of in his homeland - maybe he needs a bit more support. You're right that the ball he played to Idah was truly appalling - but so was Maclean's to Pukki for the first goal. Their reactions spoke volumes - Idah screaming "WTF was that?" at a teammate. Pukki just got his head down and made something out of it. That's what supporting teammates is about.

He's another young man working hard in a strange country. Does he even speak English yet?

And rightly so! If The Hare had bothered to look up early on he would have slid Idah in and we could have been looking at 4-0.

Placheta had a good five to ten seconds to pass and it would have been an open goal for Idah.

No clue what he was thinking but it's often been a problem with placheta... Has all the pace and dribbling but soon as he gets near or in the box or has a chance to shoot or pass he loses his head and panics

Placheta has raw attributes but quite clearly lacks a 'footballing brain'.

He shouldn't be starting matches at this level but he does put the graft in when he plays and his pace is a weapon to worry defences - even if he hasn't really worked out how to use it yet.

First touch he passed it to a Watford player, then didn’t track his man back into the area and then not passing early or well enough to Idah, really doesn’t look like a footballer

May have been the stage of the game. Not sure what he should do, retain possession, play him in, try to score? Caught in two minds I think, probably as not settled into the game as well. Still think Hernandez would offer more than Placheta but that ship has sailed
