Iwan Roberts to replace Nigel Worthington till the end of the season....

Recommended Posts

Please note this is NOT something I heard but a personal tought.

 • Iwan will have the strenght and motivation to rally the dressing room

 • I beleive his got some coaching badges and therefore will be allowed by the league to manage NCFC until a replacement was found.

The play offs places are now just an infinite and impossible dream.

Can''t be worst that what we got.

Stuart Pearce of Man City has done it...

I''d love it if Iwan come back! He''s a legend and the motivation and fans would go though the roof for him. Roberts is Norwich through and through. But i''m not sure. But then i''d like to see Bowen or Newell in, so probably Roberts as assistant manager!

This is a joke, no? Don''t you remember Iwan''s last season or so? He was cruising - so "motivating" is probably not something he knows a lot about. The mainstay of his game had become falling over and asking for a free kick: unfortunately referees got wise to it, so his presence was a little pointless. Sorry...

The man who invented transfer rumours at each contract renewal to get better terms?

The man is rightly recalled for his contribution to the club but as a loyal legend he cant hold a candle to flem.

As far as being a manager is concerned he and pearce have nothing in common - I cant recall iwan ever being fearsome or demonstrating the drive that earned Pearce the Psycho nickname.   Next manager has to have some experience...

If Iwan is to ever be manager of Norwich, it needs to be now. i like the sound of williams as head and Iwan as his assitant, this will allow Iwan to learn off of him. Fact is this season really we''re not going to make the play-offs and we''re not going to get relegated, so why not bring Iwan in as 2nd man. This''ll give him the experience from the remainder of this season! If things go to plan, he should take over full-time as top dog during the summer....Currently it seems that no-one is quite sure where Iwan is at the moment in terms of his coaching badges.etc....I think the main thing that Iwan''s arrival will bring would be; passion, playing for the shirt (pride), belief and fight!

Im not sure about this. Just because Roberts was a popular player, doesnt automatically make him a potential NCFC manager. He has no credentials. Let him prove himself elsewhere, perhaps winning a promotion at a smaller club, then by all means, consider him as a future manager.

Like the Old Boy and Zipper say, Iwan is not quite the legend he is made out to be.

Plus, he has no coaching experience, nor managerial.

Plus, he was hardly the motivational leader, was he?

So, in all, this thread is utter nonesense.

When taking his badges, he was the lowest in his group.  Why not bring back Kenny Foggo, Kevin Keelan etc.  Sentiment is nice, but please lets replace Worthy with someone with a proven track record.  Me...I would get in Parkinson and half of his team!

I think Old Boy and Zip have hit the nail on the head.

Norwich cannot afford to take any chances -- and Roberts is just that - and unproven risk. I would argue that is the case with Bowen and Crook as well.

My shout is to look at the end of the season at the lower league and the most realistic option is to grab either Martin Allen (the motivator and organiser), Parkinson (transfer market king and cup magician), Kenny Jackett (promotion expert). That is on the assumption that all of their respective teams do not go up.

All these managers are proving themselves in different ways but crucially getting the right results. Iwan Roberts is best providing commentary/analysis on Sky - and he is not much good at that!

i would like to see him back in some coaching capacity but nos as manager, we need someone who has been succesful as a manager, not a combination of a rookie in roberts and the inexperienced williams.

Perhaps Worthy''s first mistake was to give Roberts his last two year contract. Was it the time when he was ready to pack his case and join Cardiff  or was it when his agent said we would never see him in a Norwich shirt ever again ?

Martin Peters was a top notch player and gave Norwich excellent service, without resorting to the ''hand of god'',  but he was never a successful manager.

worthy''s not going this season may be at the end of season say see ya and thanks! don''t know about king iwan ? my choice would be martin allen and mark bowen {just for his goal in munich} allen seems to be agood manager {the new martin oneill} and bowen is getting to be very good coach'' all so find a role for williams '' just listen to what d stringer says about him

I think if we sack Worthy we have to make sure the replacement gets results and the situation improves. As much as I''d love to see Iwan in charge, this would be a huge gamble and personally I don''t think it would be a sensible move. Perhaps have him in some sort of coaching role but he''s not ready for manager!
I know I''ve quoted you out of context, but would be interesting to have Flem in charge, or as assistant... Would get him off the pitch for one thing... And he knows the club/team inside out.
Iwan for manager!!!! Come on!!!!!!!! He''s got to be put in! Stuart Pearce has done it, and so could Iwan!!!!
Stuart Pearce is a very different character from Iwan Roberts!! I don''t think you can compare the two. For every Pearce there are a number of new managers that have tried and failed I''m sure!

Megson is not an option. Been there before. Re-appointing Walker didn''t work and Megson isn''t a particularly nice character!
