If nobody wants Cantwell

A large part of me wants him to be cheered to the roof today , right from the start.

really show him we are behind him and to see what he gives us back.

a small part of me says we still don’t know the full picture and if it’s mental heath  then we back him.

But he then needs to do his bit .

Agreed, feels like I keep hoping for a sign he will get through it or sort it out in his mind.  I am fearful for him, he has been running down the clock on his contract for 2 years, probably because an agent or opposition club has said something to him and they hope to get the player on the cheap.  Unless he goes to a Premier league club for a decent fee, it is hard to see them building the team around him, and then it will not be long until the doubts will take him back to a bad place.  Really hope he comes through it.

It is a shame that NCFC are losing out financially, but it is the impact on Todd's future which really matters and the lost opportunity for him to show what he can do.

If nobody wants Cantwell.... we should play him an #10 and see what he can do.

At this point we have nothing to lose and neither does he.

He can score a goal and he knows how Pukki plays.

The eleven who started today have earnt the right to start next week, injuries permitting.

Exactly would be mad to change the team that just beat Everton if everybody is fit

They have earned the right to keep their place and have a go at watford

Reward success

If that happens I will be delighted Wacky....even better if he comes on and has a big game, which we all know he is capable of👍

Have no doubt, an on form Todd Cantwell could be the pivotal piece in our survival challenge.

That’s how I see it. People have forgotten the football talent that he is as a result of all the shenanigans. A fit and on fire Todd Cantwell is a huge player for us. We just need him and the club to bang their heads together I think.

Probably sub him on for Rashica. Gotta keep Idah, Pukki and Sargent together though - two bigger lads up top give us a better chance of the ball sticking so Cantwell can drift into those little half-spaces.

Not direct enough to replace rashica . he would need power and pace . you would instantly give the left side of play to the opposition

All that ignores that he is a professional footballer. What Wright is basically saying is that Cantwell probably thinks he is above us. What about his duty as a "professional" ?

Cantwell is yesterday along with Farke.

The sooner he is moved on to some League One club to sulk the better.

Ian makes a fair point, Todd should be professional, and ultimately he isn’t dealing with the situation well.  I have suspected the issue was the Leeds rumours at the end of 19/20 season and possibly as a club we put his price up on the back of his performances, whilst he was expecting to leave for a previously agreed figure, and as a result feels let down.  But what do I know - very little tbh

hopefully it gets sorted in a way where we can move on quickly.
