Six Pack 105 Posted January 12, 2022 We've had a new post about Sargent every week - usually after every game ! We all know that Webber spend £10mil on a lemon - I knew that before he even kicked a ball ! I don't think he is capable of scoring goals at any level - he just hasn't got the technical ability - but what he has got is athletic ability. If you think of the two players considered the most influential to our promotion last season most would say Brendia & Skipp. Brendia is a goal scorer / playmaker / match winner. But Skipp was only a midfield ball winner - he didn't create many goals via his passing or score many goals. In fact just goal - he couldn't miss. So no special attacking flair just an athlete with the ability to read the game, get in a block & win the ball. Can Sargent do that ? Can he play CM ?He's got speed and a good jump on him - can he make the tackles in midfield ? I'm not talking about the Premier league but the lower leagues, we could recoup some of the money ! TheGunnShow 7,377 Posted January 12, 2022 (edited) Might as well go the whole hog and put him at centre-half. Then Kabak-khazi (thanks, Corkie!) can go into defensive midfield. Which reminds me, the former Hertha Berlin and Iceland centre-half Eyjölfur Sverrisson was a striker in his young days in Iceland and even when he was at Stuttgart, then ended up a very respectable centre-back. Petriix 3,218 Posted January 12, 2022 Nah, it's left back... Left back at home while the actual professional footballers play the match.

Which also mirrors the legend that is the Ginger Pele. ❤️ EDIT: is it just coincidence that Sargent is also ginger? 🤔 🔍 Edited January 12, 2022 by Nuff Said
Fuzzar 1,861 Posted January 12, 2022 I agree he's got the engine to play CDM, but would worry about his ability to receive the ball on the half turn and his predilection to fall over if he drops into the defence.
Tetteys Jig 851 Posted January 12, 2022 Ah, the Joelinton move. Supposedly Sargents data was very similar to that of Joelinton when they both were in Bundesliga.
hogesar 10,762 Posted January 12, 2022 Not really sure having a midfielder who falls over and air kicks two or three times a game is ideal.
