TheBaldOne66 768 Posted January 4, 2022 Do you think the club, Webber especially, wish they had sold Aarons and Cantwell after our relegation two years ago, as their values have clearly plummeted now?
The Bunny 326 Posted January 4, 2022 Doesn’t matter. They’d have wasted the proceeds anyway.

Can't agree that Max's value has plummeted, he's still a very highly rated prospect and is getting even more PL experience under his belt. From memory none of the offers we received for him were any good for his future prospects. I hope he gets a good move this window or at the very least this summer, he thoroughly deserves it. We are well stocked at RB with Bali looking a very good prospect and Byram making a return to fitness. I don't recall us getting any firm offers for Todd, but could be wrong. Can't see us getting much for him at the moment though, needs to do his talking on the pitch to get the attention for a good move.
City 101 85 Posted January 4, 2022 Afraid all our crown jewels turn out to be another teams bang average players , it’s about time clubs realised we massively overrate our own . Take Buendia best player to ever pull on a City shirt according to many , reality very good Championship player but nothing special at top level .

It’s not as though last time we were in the Premier League, there were only 3 players above him in the assists table, apart from Liverpool and Man City players, despite the fact we scored relatively few goals. Don’t let statistics get in the way of your agenda!!
komakino 282 Posted January 4, 2022 Whatever has gone on with Cantwell, on or off the pitch, the club has to take some responsibility. You can't allow one of your best assets to drift into obscurity. Especially when you take into consideration the self righteous and ultimately doomed self funding model. What price you would put on him now? It's very difficult to judge. I have a feeling when he leaves, he will not be kind to Norwich City.

Some of the worlds biggest clubs haven't been able to stop this happening on the rare occasion, why should we be able to?

Whatever the reason for his not performing, even if he's gone off the rails, fallen out with the manager, thinking he's more important than he is, lost confidence personally, (whatever) the club has got to manage the situation better. Not particularly for Todd's sake but because his transfer fee is a major potential benefit to the club going forwards. If we end up with £10m rather than £25m (which we may have been able to get last season) that has disastrous consequences for a club operating with our financial constraints. Managing difficult people is a tough ask but we have highly paid people to carry out that task. At the very least someone should have seen the risk that problems were on the horizon and shifted him on before his market value fell.

Canario 268 Posted January 4, 2022 Emi can't have been that bad then if was rated as "best player ever to pull on a city shirt"!! Think the big difference between Emi and Madders is their PR. Pretty easy to talk about what a wonderful cub we are etc etc but he too couldn't wait to move up a level, and fair enough. Emi didn't kiss the badge or Delia's backside but he and Madders are the kind of players to build a dynasty around. Unfortunately we don't have the cash or ambition to do that. I wouldn't be too surprised to see Aarons sold in January, if the price is right. We won't get anywhere near as much for him once relegated, and I can't imagine he'll want to stay for another season in the Championship. If his move allowed us to fund a replacement, like Calvin Ramsay, and purchase a goal-scorer we so desperately need then it's worth considering.
Mello Yello 2,572 Posted January 5, 2022 We'd probably get more dosh for Max now in 'panic' January if we do choose to sell him....than if we wait until May.....
