Samwam27 606 Posted December 11, 2021 No, not because of today, but for the greater good. If we sold him in Jan, it might generate much needed funds (if we dont have a budget for Jan)get us a striker and/midfielder to get us goals to help the good fight. But my reasoning was more could Williams then fill in as natural right back, Gian showing today class as left back and we'd have Mumba, Byram & Sorensen as cover. Any thoughts? Surfer 1,547 Posted December 11, 2021 Agreed. Besides which Max is too short for the PL. It was the cause of his penalty today. Also therefore, Mumba isn't the solution either.

That’s ambitious, sell one of our best and most consistent players, who had an excellent game today because you think some loan player may be able to play out of position in his place. Since you ask, I think it’s a rubbish suggestion.

Since you ask, I think it’s a rubbish suggestion. The alternative being keep a consistent rb, but we're not scoring any goals. Thats prudence with ambition Naturally with Rash, Normann (&maybe Cantwell and Tzolis) coming good things could change considerably. You're welcome to you're opinion though. Surfer 1,547 Posted December 11, 2021 He played well? Granted he didn't play badly but he gave away the penalty, and on every occasion he had to go outside his man he turned back inside rather than putting a cross in.
curious yellow 184 Posted December 11, 2021 Byram is a better defender and would have been more experienced in that situation tonight. Max is going to leave soon probably so we might be better spending the money on a striker-- or Normann.
Dr Greenthumb 792 Posted December 11, 2021 I know it’s Sargent, but he made a great run first half and instead of passing, Aaron’s turned back and let United players regroup. He’s excellent with the ball at his feet, but his build up seems to be getting slower. I wouldn’t be against us cashing in, but we’d need to buy a replacement. Spence from Middlesbrough for me. We would'nt get any where near what the club think he's worth. I know people on here will shoot me down, but I really don't think he's that special.

How can you say this when he hasn't kicked a ball for almost two years. We have no idea what level Byram will come back at if he can stay fit..... I just know that when we signed Matt Jarvis he'd been a Premier League regular and when he left us he went to Woking. Any plan requiring us to rely on a right back with Byram's injury record is a flawed one, even if he still looks decent when we do see him, if we lose Aarons we need to bring in a right back.
