AP16 0 Posted February 19, 2006 Just watching Villa v Man City, and counted 11 seconds that Sorensen held onto the ball before releasing it. Does anyone know if the rule that enables the goalie to hold onto the ball for 6 seconds only still applies?
Yellow Rages 0 Posted February 19, 2006 Yes it does. If it didn''t, what a great way to see out a game. 1-0 up, just give it to the keeper to hold on to for the four minutes added time.
AP16 0 Posted February 19, 2006 I didn''t mean it like that. Just seems like it''s a rule that''s been forgotten by referees somewhat.

There were times when James seemed to hold onto the ball for an age. It seems pointless having the rule if refs aren''t going to use it and adhere to it!!
