Dean Coneys boots 1,398 Posted November 30, 2021 Krul: 7 (great effort on penalty but couple of flaps) Williams: 4 lost the ball a lot. Sloppy mistakes and created nothing - but a few crucial tackles Gibson: 7 solid hanley: 7 solid max: 6 he’s not on song this season but always puts a shift in rupp: 6 champ standard but worked hard gilmour: 6 sprayed a lot of passes but most backwards - looks like a boy against men at times mcclean 5 didnt see him do anything much at all. Invisible Tzolis: 5 big chance- looked pedestrian - yet to show what the rave reviews are about sargent: 4 poor with the ball at his feet. Strange player - can earn rave reviews when we need to see some effort but in truth looks well short of what is needed to score goals at this level Pukki: 8 didnt get much service. Scored a cracker subs: PLM: 7 - we improved when he came on. Idah: 7 - same as above but looks champ standard to me Gianoullis- 8: my man of the match - created openings and his assist was top drawer. A cast improvement on Williams

A cast improvement on Williams Personally think rupp played quite well again and a 7 pushing an 8. Tidy play from the man, id drop McLean when normann is back
shefcanary 2,383 Posted November 30, 2021 How the **** can Gilmour get any mark tonight. Nearly cost us the match and despite the game being set up for him, played a real stinker. Needs a real kick up the **** - overrated.
Tetteys Jig 830 Posted November 30, 2021 Krul - 7 - dealt with what he needed to, as unlucky with the pen Aarons - 6 - fairly unspectacular display, lacked ideas and quality going forwards but defensively sound Hanley - 7 - solid display and easily dealt with what was thrown his way vs former club Gibson - 7.5 - similar to Hanley but marginally better. Offered some decent progression at times Williams - 6.5 - was our main (only) attacking outlet for the entire first half. A few shaky moments but dominated his flank, just lacked the quality in the final 3rd to deliver. Was given the freedom of half the pitch to perform but a shame he's not left footed Giannoulis - 7 - made the difference and his cross was perfect for Pukki to rifle home. Added that bit of extra natural width we were lacking. Rupp - 6.5 - solid and unspectacular. Typical Rupp performance. Not good, not bad. Gilmour - 6.5 - grew as the game went on but was part of a midfield that didn't really have enough ideas or confidence to break down a stubborn but fallible Newcastle defence. Unlucky with the pen. McClean - 6 - a bit of a passenger. Unlucky that Idah didn't square it to him to win the game. Tzolis - 5 - barely even knew he was playing to be honest. Had 1 decent chance but a long way off what we need from him. He's only young so will give him time. Rightfully subbed PLM - 6 - a bit of an odd one to bring on but he definitely added a bit more to our midfield threat later on in the 2nd half. Unlucky not to win the game for us. Sargent - 5 - the usual hustle and bustle that we seem to not be able to do without but it's frustrating as having to play him really drags our quality down a level. I'm not sure if it's composure or he's just not technically proficient but he just doesn't look good enough for this level. Poor first touches and some wayward passing. Pukki - 7.5 (MOTM) - a lot of chasing shadows but there in the key moments. Great anticipation to get Clark panicking into that red card and then an absolute howitzer to save the day. Needs some more help from the midfield. Idah - 6 - better quality compared to Sargent, some decent control and work in the Newcastle box. Fluffed his lines at the key moment. Big chance to make a name for himself today that he failed to capitalise on. Perhaps needs a loan to the championship to get some rhythm going. Smith - 7 - set up looked as good as we could really have started with, some interesting sub choices but they paid off and saved us a point. Let down by the lack of creativity available to him today. Normann, Rashica or Cantwell could easily have made the difference today. It was one of those games where it showed how much we miss Emi. He'd have pulled something out of the bag today. Hank shoots Skyler 2,094 Posted November 30, 2021 Rupp started the game well but appeared to struggle when we needed more from him creatively. Williams was better than a 4 I thought, I don’t think it’s his fault being right footed on the left but god it does hamstring us when we need a goal! Expected more from Gilmour tonight to be honest given the circumstances.

He does a lot and is at least wanting the ball- his passing can be sublime. However, as stated, he looks physically off the pace when he doesn’t have Normann to protect him
shefcanary 2,383 Posted November 30, 2021 Gilmour grew? **** off, this game was made for him and he did **** all. A more inept performance from a lynch pin player I have yet to see. He needs a real good talking to! He's believing all the hype those Chelsea fans who vote him MOTM give him. Pants.....

The average of your ratings for tonight’s game suggests the team was overall a 6.5/10… not sure about that… I reckon if you minused a 1 of every player you’d be about there 😆

Generally, keeper and defence were a 6.5, midfield including wingers was a 6 and Pukki was 7.
