Cantiaci Canary 610 Posted November 29, 2021 First Brexit dashed Webber's transfer strategy now parachute payments are under the spotlight! https://www.theguardian.com/football/2021/nov/29/premier-league-and-efl-in-secret-talks-to-remove-parachute-payments
Rivvo 265 Posted November 29, 2021 The football review mentioned the possibility of reducing them or changing the system of them but unless the FA/Premier league insist on wage reduction clauses for every play upon relegation I can’t see how it would be possible. It is more likely in my view that the TV money is distributed more evenly (but probably not much more).

Badger 2,745 Posted November 29, 2021 The championship understandably want a bigger share of the Premier League money and would rather see the parachute payments given to the championship as a whole. Given that nearly every club spends more than 100% of turnover on wages it is very hard to imagine that they would use it sensibly. It would also make promoted teams even less competitive in the Premier League.
