Players playing for...

Recommended Posts

Each other and their manager again.

The home fans showing their appreciation.

Pukki looking more confident already, Sargent putting in his best shift in a Norwich shirt.

A few on here who have been throwing tantrums for two weeks and talking down Dean Smith should be embarrassed.

Deano! Deano!

As they did against Brentford.  Come on. Credit where credit is due.

The second half today by far our best half of the season.

Feels like Paul Lambert circa-2011.

Embarrassed about what? Farke won the last game and Smith this one. A long way to go yet.

You should be embarrassed about some of the diatribe you post.

Today is a good day and long may it continue but please stop posting your silliness.

Hmmm. Much better second half but the first half was as bad as anything I’ve seen all season. We were dreadful.

Great result though, and whatever was said at half time was a revelation. Sargent made a huge positive difference and Gilmour was a different player after the break. A certain Kenny McLean was solid too. Onwards!!

We did see similar against Brentford, but nothing like what we saw today.

The worst half from us I've seen in a long time (to be fair I wasn't at Chelsea),  followed by the best half I've seen this season.

Credit where it's due, whatever Smith said at half time did the job. He did all we can ask by managing the situation and identifying some serious issues from that first 45 minutes.

Amongst a number of tactical changes, a stand out for me was that our press was much more impressive second half and Southampton did not like it.

Sargent was immense in that second half, probably earned a start next week in place of a lacklustre Todd.

Gilmour also looked infinitely improved in that second half. Still a way to go for him, but he hasn't done himself any harm after that second half performance.

First half absolutely dreadful, wasn't it? Have to credit the defence a bit though as well as lady luck because we could well have been 3 goals down by the time we reached half time.

Second half was much more what I thought DS sides were about - pressing the final third in groups and making things uncomfortable for the opposition. Sargent was a massive part of that, actually.

Indeed. Sargent did make a huge difference, physicality, strength and hard chasing. We were so different second half I genuinely wonder if Dean Smith instructed us to be woeful first half so that he looked like a genius post the half time chat😉.

Ultimately, we might have felt (extremely) fortunate to be level at half time but after going in level, I felt we deserved it based on our second half display.

We would have lost that match under Farke after such a dreadful first half. Difference is Smith and Shaky saw the weaknesses straight away and made the required changes. Much better 2nd half and deserved the win.

Even in that disjointed first half where save for a couple of decent knock arounds we struggled to string three passes together, you could see that Smith really wanted Aarons on the overlap, and he worked really well with Rashica on a few occassions... one of which led to the goal. In that training video uploaded the other day he was saying to one player, not sure who, that he wants them to overlap and said something about "it is up to you what you do when you get there".

Yes we were woeful, but the change to a wingers and overlapping full backs led to the chance which Pukki buried for a goal from open play and he's been very short of chances under Farke this season.

You actually check your profile to see who has been looking at it?  Haven't you better things to do?

I didn’t realise that was possible. Right, that’s my Sunday sorted then!

These things are highly subjective, but we've had a couple of weeks of compllete guff from you..... can't say you didn't nail your colours on the mast... how long until we see the embarrassing u-turn? Admittedly you at least didn't have the full drawn out man tantrum that CanaryDan23 did, with talk of cancelling season tickets.

Awful appointment if this comes off.

That's a downgrade on Farke and obviously the cheapest option.

His managerial stats speak for themselves.

What does he bring to the table? Not a lot from what I can see.

And when I said that I was buzzing with the appointment, you gave me this....

I get the feeling that very quickly this post is going to come back and bite you on the ar*e.

And as a Norwich fan, I naturally want it to be your a"se that is bitten. If I didn't I'd be a scummer.

Yes, tomorrow I'll be planning the logistics around Newcastle away. I assume being based up North you will be going to this crucial six pointer too?

I think first half we was soo bad as it was the first time we played the managers new tactics and we didn't have much time to practise in training. Luckily Smith realised this was smart enough to tweak at half time. But what worried me most was the long balls. I hope we go back to playing a mixture of passing out and long balls. Although several long balls did give Southampton somthing to think about
