It's Lampard!

Recommended Posts

I'm disappointed with Webber. I assumed when we fired Farke so rapidly that there was someone interesting waiting in the wings. It seems not. Lampard is the cover-your-**** candidate. If we go down, no one will blame Webber.

If it is Lamps, will he bring JT with him (or might he stay at Villa?).

The FL/JT package would be pretty fab, but would cost the club and arm and a leg - Frank is going to want a fair old wedge that's for sure.

He's not been at Villa for months now.

Not so sure on that. It's a very risky appointment. But it will look great on SW's CV if this comes off.

I don't agree with this at all.

Of course there's context about going down.

If we go down without much of a fight still, with the signings made not looking good enough under Lampard too, then not only would we have reason to blame Webber for his signings in the summer, we'd then have reason to blame him for sacking one of our best managers for someone without significant experience who's delivered less than Farke (in context).

Wouldn't have been my first choice but his track record with younger players and his standing in the game means I'm hopeful he can get more out of the players we have here now.

Underwhelmed to the max with this one. Starting to fall off the Webber train too. I’d imagine his hands are tied by the skint owners, but they seem to be outlasting all the other problems this club has.

Webber can't blame the owners for this one. Certainly not least because they let him sack Farke who was on a 4 year contract and therefore due a hefty pay-off, but equally because Frank is going to be far from the cheapest option out there.

Not very enthusiastic about him but wish him luck. He will need to hit the ground running to win everyone over I feel.

I hope he get's at least the same amount of time Farke got .. remember the first season?

Is the delay to him not getting the Villa job as there were reports of him around Norwich the beginning of the week?

I hope not.

Poor decision if true. A variety of different candidates with solid managerial pedigree who could of built on the tactical side of the game.

Now I have to listen to Frank Lampards Norwich City with every single press release. *yawn

I'm giving an honest and instant response. I'll be on board against Southampton and over the rest of the season, hoping that I am massively wrong in my opinion of Lampard's potential as a manager.

Pie mash an' liquor.....Pie mash an' liquor!....."Um diddle diddle diddle um diddle I"....."Cor blimey Mary Poppins!"......

"Chim chiminee chim chim cheroo!"....."Daarn by the ole Bull arn Bush!"......."Dwy yer eye's maaate!".....

Lovin' the blubfest......He's a FURRINER!......"We durnt want no suvverner here!".....Har har har.....

If you thought it was bad enough having Chelsea fans spam all our social media posts about Gilmour just wait until Lampard turns up..

You need to a see specialist for help with that, the managerial appointment is least of your worries.

If it is Lampard at least he'll raise our profile.....it's been all b*oody Gerrard and Villa so far this week.

Seems unlikely he'll bring that thug Terry with him which would be a good thing but if he's to make a decent fist of keeping us up he'll have to break that ' great player = poor manager ' template. As will Gerrard at Villa.

It'll be a novelty having a manager richer than the owners too.

I don’t know, he hasn’t got many prem suitors though. I’d imagine he has applied for a few positions. The rumours couldn’t start quick enough for him.

I really, really hope I am wrong on this one. But this doesn’t seem a very good option for me.

Meh.  Underwhelmed.  Great player, but so what.

I presume they've already changed the club crest to fit "Frank Lampard's..." in front of "Norwich city fc".~

Although it's not actually official yet is it?

I think the delay is due to the fact Lampard wants to bring Farke back as his assistant 😅

Just a gentle reminder for anyone who felt Farke needed to go. A lot of us felt Farke had it in him to turn things around, but the critics were very vocal that we had to try 'something'. This is something. Ultimately, I'm quite positive that he's the best currently available to the club, so that will have to do.

The board made the call you wanted, so get behind him and fingers crossed.

I hope not.

In Norwich at beginning of week for initial interview and a show round of the club.  Then went to Dubai to watch the T20 world cup semi-finals and final (this is the reason formal announcement now put back until Tuesday - apologies as I was confident it would be formally announced on Friday but this holiday is a brief delay).  Webber has been over to Dubai with the formal offer and paperwork as per Yellow_Belly's information.
