It's not about the manager. The problem is the owners...

So it's their fault that Farke has a record of 2 points and 4 goals from the last 22 Premier League games is it?

He has to go.... But I fear he won't be going anywhere any time soon.

Of course it's their fault - always has been, silly.

I too have some issues with the owners but not to the same extent you do. But the problem right now is a poor gameplan and unsuitable tactical philosophy for this league, slow, athletically weak players who just aren't good enough and a chronic lack of confidence and belief amoungst the players. Those 3 reasons are why we're so embarrassingly poor, it has little to do with money, I think even with money we would have signed the wrong type of players because we're trying to play a low intensity, short passing style of football that doesn't work at this level unless you have world class players.

The owners are a part of the reason why we have consistently struggled at this level, but they are not the issue right here right now. It's the style of football and the profile of player we try to sign.

Why do you think we are signing low profile players? Because top players go where the money is and that is not here with the Socialists. You need to be offering 80K a week minimum to attract any decent player with experience of this level. Why do you think we are consciously avoiding that type of player?

Masquerading as a sport is a very good description of the Premier League.

Here we go again. Norwich fan sees his team not able to compete in EPL.

Conclusion? Slag off EPL.

Delia herself couldn't have put it any better. Supporters get board they deserve.

It’s both. The owners fundamentally hold us back but Farke has been awful at premier league level with all of his weaker areas wuite brutally exposed.

Sounds like you may have made that up.

£45k a week for Josh King at Watford apparently, we decided that was too expensive. That's £9.36m over a four year deal, but there would be no transfer fee to pay.

If she won't pick up the ringing phone she can't be helped, or, more like it, doesn't want to be helped.

Thats an easy one. We don't  have the financial clout.

If you want players who are going to keep you up then the going rate is 80K.

Exactly.

Club has to be sold.

There is no other way forward.

Self-funding model is dead in the water.

That's a strange answer. I asked where you fit in with your little scenario?

Better players will come if the money is right. Paul McVeigh said so. Apparently.

But if Delia gives him the cold shoulder instead of biting his hand off, where do we go from there?

I'll answer that question when this billionaire turns up.

At the last AGM (under Covid restrictions) I asked why the directors didn't put any money in, but they didn't answer and instead got Webber to give the answer he was told to give.

Ok, so basically it's down to me and those other fans to demand what you think other people should do with their money.

Theres a lot of "others" there..

Nobody should be a director of a club at this level unless they are going to put money in. Even Roger Munby accepted this was fair comment.

If Delia put her entire wealth in we still couldnt afford Harry Kanes left knee. Without this elusive billionaire we are stuck with self finance.

Well, putting in her entire wealth without expecting to get a penny back is really a test of how much she really cares about the club.

Until now, aside from underwriting share issues, she hasn't put in any money that hasn't been paid back.

So what's that got to do with me and the supporters (I assume except you) getting the club we deserve?

There's plenty of good reason to criticise the EPL: statistically, chances of newly-promoted sides surviving have got worse and worse because of the huge gulf in financial reward to clubs in the Premier League and those in lower leagues. That's not an imaginary issue and it has damaged English football as a whole, as evidenced by the number of lower league clubs that have found themselves in financial crises.

Here's a crazy idea: maybe accept that it's really hard for us to compete at the top level; that we are punching so far above our financial weight that the relative success of the last three seasons is a huge achievement which we can all be proud of; that we don't have some preordained right to be in the Premier League.

I don't believe for a second that our current owners are holding back a stream of potential billionaire investors. And I'm not so deluded as to imagine that a takeover would necessarily result in the kind of dream future being imagined. You don't have to look far to see what happens when those rich owners decide that pumping hundreds of millions in isn't sustainable over a prolonged period.

So our options are really limited to keeping trying to find an alternative way to compete by doing things differently, or to give up and sink back to our natural position, probably towards the bottom of the Championship or the top of League One. There's probably a third way which involves gambling our long term future by overspending in the short term to try and buy success; a terrifying thought.

But let's be honest: promotion and relegation is probably far more fun than just being Everton. We're incredibly lucky compared to the majority of clubs outside the Premier League.

How about we just enjoy the roller-coaster ride. Right now we're heading down a fairly steep drop, but there's probably another rise coming. Maybe we'll be better placed next time.

By which, I don't mean they're bad owners at all. They're very good ones.

I would challenge the accuracy of this statement.

They might be 'nice' people, but they are not very good owners of a football club.

Abrahmovic is, by all accounts, a pretty shady character, but how many Chelsea fans do you think would swap him for our owners following the success he has brought their club?

Great answer...full of substance and opinion 🙄

It is all about opinion. Because our family business is catering and for you to state that you have to shop at Harrods to make a first class meal shows you don't know what you are talking about regarding cooking.

I'm not saying you are wrong about the team just using the wrong analogy.
