Farke and Webber are not the problem. The financial resource at their disposal is.

It may well be that the ownership is the root of the problem, but Farke has been given players that should be more than capable of running for 90 minutes, fighting for 90 minutes and generally acting like professional footballers and not a pub side. Farke effectively saying after the match this game didn’t matter as our self funding club can’t compete with these sides  sounded like the last excuses of a man seeing his end is near.

Totally agree with this, once the manager has lost the dressing room, which going on the lack of effort or concern from the players today it very much looks the case here, then he has to go regardless of whether there's issues at the club elsewhere.

My whole reasoning for now wanting Farke out is purely based on that, I would suggest none of the new signings have bought into him.

Well, in the 1950s it was commonly thought by the locals that Norwich could not be anything more than Division Three. Then along came Geoffrey Watling who dragged the club up by the bootlaces and 16 years later they were in Division One. Then years later came Mr Chase who took the club to another new level - multiple European qualifications. So, dreams do not always end wishfully.

The problem with the Socialists is they just have a chronic inferiority complex - that all the other clubs are better and Norwich can't possibly compete. This mentality informs every move the club makes, including today's 7-0 loss.

You are so detached from reality it's untrue.

It's a bit like some fans telling us they won the First Division title, and that was 60 years ago, and it aint gonna happen again. So take your blinkers off and get in the real world.

There will be fans of rival clubs who have voted, so some of that 25% will be them.

Possibly that they'd like to shake it all about for him.

For me he has to go. We are dreadful in every single game at least in the last pl season before COVID there were a few games when we played well and were quite unlucky not to get a result. And even then after the op restart disaster I was happy to give him a bit more time as the squad that season clearly wasn’t up to scratch.

However he’s been backed in the transfer window by the club now and we look even worse than last time round. We are doomed as soon as we go behind (that stat in itself is horrendous as any game we go behind at the moment we are losing), we do not look like scoring at all and defensively we are awful. We are back to playing chris hughton football and tbf to him at least he managed to get the odd half decent result against the top teams, farkes rhetoric just seems to be that any game against the big boys is a lost cause.

I am completely fed up with this team at the moment we are a laughing stock. I haven’t been to a game since feb last year, I’ve got a ticket for Leeds and I hate to say it but I am not looking forward to it at all.

We cannot keep going on like this, any other club would have sacked him by now. The club has been ruthless in getting rid of fan favourites when the time is right to supposedly make the team better (turnbull, Vrancic, steipi all come to mind) that same mindset needs to now be applied to the manager. We have a few favourable games now a fresh face is needed to try and maximise any points we take.

Thankyou for the good times mr farke but it’s time to go.

PS Any happy clappers Who want to tell me to stay positive and to stop being negative can do one

The match report by Jonathan Northcott in The Times today is pretty brutal. It does feel as if there's a scent of blood in the water. It's not great being pitied in the nationals.

Like a few others on this thread I haven't voted, but it increasingly feels to me that Daniel may be running out of rope.

Webber has a lot to consider over the next few days and, if Farke is still in post next weekend, we simply have to win.

This.

I get there are questions about finances and recruitment to consider but I just do not believe that what we've seen this season is even close to the best we could get from this group.

I've seen the word 'passive' used elsewhere and it totally sums it up for me. Nobody, outside of Hanley spending 90 minutes kicking Havertz, remotely put a stamp on the game. We just seemed to wait for others to do stuff rather than trying to make things happen.

I'm convinced if you put a player like Kabak, Rashica or even Sargent into a Brentford or Watford type team they'd shoe significantly more.

That is a very unfair allegation. You could look at the names of the 25% and 99% are honest City fan posters.

I do not see any appointed new manager turning it round with these mostly second rate players. How many have played consistently in Premier League. On the money the players get and for the dross they gave us yesterday , they seem not proud to wear yellow shirt.

What other occupation can you earn so much cash and only aszked to work at your best for a few hours a week on match days We have let some players go in the summer who were rated not good enough players for PL only to be replaced by third tier players at best.

Some of the new additions were plying their trade at the bottom end of second tier clubs in Europe like bringing in Milton K Dons players who probably would put a bit more grit  in their play.

I doubt that massively. As I said a couple of weeks back, going down this season will be nothing like it was two years ago.

We lost Lewis and Godfrey and replaced them with Quintilla/Dimi and Gibson, arguably upgrades at that level. So we went in with a largely unchanged team and squad.

This time Normann, Kabak, Gilmour are all but guaranteed to go. Cantwell, Aarons and Tzolis will almost certainly be bought, Rashica too (both for less than we paid if it carries on). Pukki will be another year older.

We'll have huge holes to fill and Webber isn't proving the best at doing that at the moment.

I think we'll struggle next season, playoffs at best.

As if you, of all people, should actually be delighted with what Smith has produced this season so far! 😉

I don’t think so. I can’t see anything that would suggest we should be looking at promotion from the championship next season. This current lot look like mid table championship contenders at best

22 games in and I’m quite happy to stick with this prediction. I’ve still seen nothing to suggest we will get promoted. We’re sitting 4th so clearly better than mid table but there are only 5 points between us and 12th place

Pretty sure I voted out, haven’t changed my mind about that just because Smith’s dull. They aren’t mutually exclusive issues.

Funnily enough, I missed this at the time, so I put shake it all about to try and keep it a fair reflection of the views at the time. If I'd seen it at the time I would have said in though.

Great threadromancy Hoggy.

Amazing to read through the comments and see how many people thought, even at that stage, that not only should Farke go, but that they couldn't see a new manager being able to turn it around either.

Yet this season, when he gets the results, people often point to Smith's record last season. Just an observation at this point.

Smith has not been as convincing as a Farke side in the attacking third of the pitch or even as comfortable with the ball in the middle third, but they have been better defensively in our third and the middle third in my view. And he clearly wants us to play better with the ball, it's just not happening. As said a number of times now, he needs it to happen really, or the question will become if he could ever replicate the attacking style of Villa whilst with us?
