Brighton are a bunch of dirty, fouling thugs. They haven't come to play football.

Refs been pretty decent though, three professional fouls quite rightly shown yellows.

Nothing out of the ordinary for this league. It doesn't get spoken about much in the media because it's important for them to protect their product, but the bottom 14 or so in this league are all just more expensive, higher quality versions of the types of teams Sam Allardyce used to assemble, it's also why he isn't effective anymore.

It’s football only a mother could love watching NCFC at the minute, isn’t it? Just hoping we can dig out a couple more results and then start to branch out a little in an attacking sense.

It’s probably the most turgid and uninspiring football I’ve ever seen us play in the top league. This season has been far worse than anything Hughton served up

Disappointing half. Disjointed, with no real creativity.

'Disjointed' is exactly how I'd describe it. Some flashes of really good play which then evaporates. WTF happened in the build up to their pen appeal? A classic Norwich mess-up I seem to remember.

Still, the flashes give you hope it will yet come together ... Please ...

This might work against Brighton, in their false position, and hopefully another sitter won't fall to Sargent, but its still not good is it.

Utter tripe. You've simply got a short memory.

We play like the ba5tard offspring of a cloning experiment using the DNA of the Ginger Pele and Rob Newman.

Thought we got a little better as the half went on, Sargent (aside from the horrific miss) has harried and harassed their defence well at times, PLM has played well in the centre when breaking up the play and finding a quick out ball and Giannoulis has been solid on the left.

Just need to find a way to link play a little more consistently to our frontline as we have given the ball away too much through hopeless long balls that just finds another Brighton player.

We totally lack conviction and play like a team that don't want to be in the EPL. It's as though the rest of the season is an exercise in damage limitation until we are back in the Delia Zone.

No I haven’t. 1 goal from open play In 720 minutes of football. And in the majority of that time we haven’t looked capable of scoring

Try actually reading the post. I wasn’t aware we were playing Colchester at the top level of football…..

It was a big miss for Sargent and in one earlier moment he couldve passed Pukki through with easy pass. So sure lacking bit with his final delivery. However, he has still been full of energy, desire and will to fight for each ball. Something that we really need to see more in the team!

Halftime verdict from CR

Mostly second best

Lucky with the pen

Unlucky with Sargents effort.

An OK first half. Contained Brighton well enough and had a couple of decent chances.

Not great to watch but needs must when you want points on the board.

That's the problem though "contained Brighton" should not be seen as an achievement.

Yet Hughton was worse . We're not performing through inability, not through intent.

Quite a few teams haven't managed to do even that though.

Behave Corky, Maupay didn't decide to start falling over until he was in the back row of the river end 🙄

Tried  to  stay on his feet. Only wasn't given cos it wasn't clear and obv error.  If ref had given it VAR would have backed him.

Is Sargent the new RVW? 🤣🤣

At least Sargent throws himself about and hassles defenders. He's got plenty of nuisance value, but just clearly lacking in the top six inches right now.

It was a dive and not a particularly good one either, hence it not given.

Tried to stay on his feet? I suggest a trip to the opticians. It wasn't given because it definitely, 100% was not a penalty (we were still lucky as the situation gave the officials an opportunity to c*ck it up)

Why wasn't he booked  then.  Can't have it both  ways.

He should have been booked, poor show from the ref not to book him
