'Where has the money gone?'

Recommended Posts

Are you implying that this is a bad thing then?  I mean, the money hasn't "gone", it's being managed as part of a long-term plan and this is a small part of it.  ~20-30million goes into player salaries for the season.

Are you expecting the government to pay for the upkeep and creation of facilities?  We had to develop a bond scheme previously for Colney facilities, if you remember.

You need top facilities to attract top players, good to see!

Here is the answer?

"Where has the money gone" and publishing plans for future plans at Colney aren't quite the same are they?

Does the article mention how it will be funded? Have we spent/ accrued any of this year's money on this project?

Far better to invest in the things that last decades rather than spending silly amounts on the wages for new signings who, in the worse case scenario will flop, and in the best scenario be gone in a few years anyway.

*cough* City Stand *cough*

Great to see the training facilities getting an upgrade & will undoubtedly make the team better in the future. Investing more in the first team however, might give us a better chance of reaping the HUGE financial gains you get from being in the top flight. Losing that status massively reduces your income.

I think the key difference is even spending £100 million doesn't even come close to guaranteeing you survival in this league anymore, so some will negatively see this as the 'safe' spending whilst others may see it as securing our long-term ambition to be a Premier League level club across all areas, or perhaps a bit of both!

Pathetic response as per usual suspects. We spent a record transfer budget, but we are also putting into action steps that will benefit us irrespective of which league we are in. The pool and rehab resources in particular are a key in the game of finer margins of football, if we can take 20% off recovery times from injuries, help post match recovery and do prevention work then it will have a massive impact.

Players come and go, but spending what won't have been anywhere near the 4-8 million extra on top of the 10 million for Ajier for something literally permanent is the right move. Also id suggest by the end of the season Kabak will be rated higher.

Agreed, having one of the best adacademys in England (As a club that loves giving our youngsters a chance too) is a good thing not sure why people are moaning

Do people remember why Sebastian Haller turned us down?

Crap training facilities.

Improve your facilities and you're also more likely to get the very best out of everyone still there.

Record transfer budget on a bunch of players not good enough for the level we’re trying to compete at. And saving 20% time on recovery for players who aren’t good enough means Jack.

As per usual we’re papering over the giant cracks and pulling the wool over gullible saps eyes.

Every other set of fans in the world clammer for success on the field, for goals and excitement.
For improvement in league status and competitiveness.

Norwich fans are happy as long and some foreign donkey is getting his rub down in nice surroundings.

Precisely. An extra five million doesn't get you much in terms of players nowadays, so invest it in better facilities and hopefully you'll improve your players by that. Not to mention, people forgot that Sebastien Haller walked away due to the state of the old training facilities, as Webber said they were not exactly best in class in that regard before he took over.

Post-match recovery is probably the sector that gets missed a fair bit as your average fan thinks "we'll, they're super-fit, why can't they go flat out again in three days time?" Fact is, they'll not peak every single time - the games come far too thick and fast for that. That's why squad depth and occasional rotation are so important.

Get the facilities right, you'll often become more competitive as a result.

Don't scare me like that! I hadn't seen and then realised it was in the equivalent of the South East Suffolk under 5s charity 3 a side shield.

Great idea. Building for the next 20 years rather than the next 20 months. I suspect in 5-10 years times there will be a host of clubs, including some big, big names, wishing they'd have done the same.

Those HUGE financial gains that we pay straight over to players and agents you mean?

The more they smooth the edges of the club the softer it's core becomes.

Molly coddled players and staff lose sight of what they are and that's why we are bottom of the league.

No we are bottom of the league because we have played the most difficult fixtures with a new team that could now be afforded using a different system.

We may be bottom of the league in May but then again we may not.

I really don't understand all this negativity can one of the naysayers please tell me what level of achievement would satisfy them.?

Only 54 years ago ncfc had to apply for reelection and in 57/8 they would have been on the national league if the current system existed. That would have been something to moan about.

Meanwhile ncfc will finish this season in a higher position than last.

This is certainly the argument that  was used in the past before previous relegations. This time we have spent heavily on players but have also used  some money to strengthen the club for the next decade or more, rather than just this season

Well to be fair on birchfest, I can't think of many times that you have said anything positive about the club, the team or it's fans: there isn't much evidence that you are a fan is there, so you can understand people getting confused?

Is there a reason we are the only club with a soccer bot or has Delia done a deal with the Germans to promote Uk.sales.
