Certainly no disrespect to Brighton, but this has to be considered a winnable game at home for us. All sides are going to prove to be a tough ask, so Brighton at home represents one of our best opportunities to secure 3 points.

If Southampton, Newcastle and Burnley fail to win or better all lose, and we can get 3 points in this game, how much better would the table look?

Remember, 17th is our target, so whilst a win would not get us out of the relegation zone (unless it was 10-0!), we'd be right back in there, with a number of difficult fixtures already played.

Normann against his old club? Has to be doesnt it?

Both he and Kabak have got better with each performance, so there is reason for optimism. Krul is ex-Brighton too.

Zero points from this one followed by a trip to Chelsea would not look pretty. 3.1 Norwich and and no need for viagra for all aged 18 to 75 on Saturday night.

I don't think either of them are too fussed

If it was a reserves match they might be.

Brighton are 6th in the League and looked pretty good albeit against mostly ordinary opposition. It's certainly a big game for us but not one that anyone would have us done as 'expecting' to win - or at least, neutrals certainly wont.

Just imagine a win with a performance too though. Belief would rip through the players veins ready for the battle of Stamford Bridge.

Point to prove

Don't think Krul has a point to prove I mean he had a very serious injury he gained just after he first joined Brighton that at the time he and some others thought could be career ending and Brighton did not want to risk it. Seems fair to me, but I do get where you are coming fom.. I'm sure he will no doubt get some stick from the Brighton fans behind him during the match and I'm sure he will love it

Realistically we need to take something from the game because we won't be getting anything at the Bridge.

A win would be great but another error-free performance is what we absolutely must get. We need to continue the progress of the last two games - not making it easy for them to score is the least we must achieve and being difficult to beat by being organised, disciplined and hard working is what we have to have as the starting block. Then maybe Farke can add the bells and whistles and we can start winning games.

Scoring first would be nice.....

Of the whole of the league I'd say Brighton are stylistically and playing staff-wise the first team we've played this season we can go toe to toe with. They are currently ticking nicely unfortunately so perhaps the international break has come at the right time for us. A draw would be OK, a win fantastic, a loss would feel very damning despite their current league position and form. A polarising game for me, more so than the Watford game.

Brighton are doing ok, however they are exactly the kind of team we need to pick up 3 points from. You don't stay up by only nicking points off the few teams down the bottom with you.

This is a real watershed moment for me, win and we are going to be competing in that mini league of teams who might stay up, any less than that and I think we will really going to sink.

A draw versus Burnley was fine for me, they play to our weaknesses and confidence was rock bottom, but now we need to kick on.

I don think there are any games in this league we can expect to win. Only fixtures that represent our most likely chance of 3 points. This has to be one of them. Sadly, Watford was too

Which makes it a decent chance to put the Watford game behind us and build on the Burnley result. Normann's improvement in both fitness and adjustment to the PL will be a key factor. The same could be said for Kabak, but Brighton will be another test.

There is no scenario or context where Brighton at home is not a winnable game. Not saying we will win it. They are a decent side, in form and it will be tough. But if we are going to be in this league then the next three home games are games we have to target points from and which are certainly "winnable."

I watched the whole of the Brighton v Watford match-Potter got it spot on tactically, going for a back 3 with wingbacks-Watford were unable to live with them until they also went 3 at the back but it took Munoz an hour to change it, by which time it was too late.

Daniel needs to be tactically aware in this game.

I would agree that the first thing we need to do is be hard to beat. You dont stay up with draws, but in previous games/seasons at this level we have been far too easy to score against.

When teams work a brilliant move and outclass us, or a £100m player pops up with a piece of genius I dont mind, we cant compete with that. But when Norwich concede it rarely feels like that, it feels like we have just inexplicably spread our legs - sorry for the slightly misogynistic tones of that statement but hope the meaning is conveyed.

We need to be tough to beat first and foremost. Burnley was definitely a start, and despite their baying for a penalty every time the ball got in our half, I dont think we were seriously troubled. Id take that as progress.

Build from the back and all that

Im not sure I like Sargent up front with Pukki. It may work. Sargent seems somewhat of a battler, and I think the hope is he will hold the ball up, provide an outlet, gain territory and maybe win fouls. Something we've not had since Holt. Think the hope is by doing this he will create opportunities for Pukki, whereas with us, most of Pukki's goals have come from him playing on the shoulder, timing his run and being played in from deep, often by Emi.

Gilmour has the passing ability to do that, but Im not sure how we have him in our team unless played as a Regista or as a number 10, he doesnt have the physique at this age to be a CM with us. Normann certainly has that ability, but I wonder if we miss that number 10

I'd like to see Gilmour over Lees Melou or McLean to increase our passing range for sure.

Longer term I think we need to get Cantwell back in playing closer to Pukki to offer those outlets going forward.

I agree. I don;t like it. We need Tzolis or Rashica up there for pace.

We also need Gilmour or Todd in the midfield trio for a bit more craft.

I will be very, very disappointed if I see an unchanged team taking to the field for this match but  knowing Farke I would not be surprised.

Hoggie, I don’t think neutrals are expecting us to win a single game this season at this point, we are going to have to buck that trend at some point, we are past the point that drawing every single remaining game will be enough to keep us up.

Brighton are very much in a false position right now and there for the taking. This is our chance to finally make a statement in the Premier league by comprehensively beating a side in the top half.

Brighton play good football and the difference this season is that they are converting more of the chances they create. Only a fool thinks this game will be anything other than a really tough one to win.

I agree. Brighton is an opportunity to take some points, I just note that some almost see it as an expectation to win, ignoring how good a side Brighton are.

The key to winning is to score first, which takes the pressure off us and puts it on to them and provides us with counter-attacking opportunities. Staying tight at the back helps make that possible. We've created a decent number of chances, we just need to start converting them. I see Normann as the key, playing as a DM when they have the ball then switching to playmaker when we win it back.

I dont know, watching Brighton against Arsenal they are a much better team than us currently. But anything can happen on the day.
