Imagine being a 4chan user who points at facebook and calls it cancer.

Get a room you two. The sexual tension is palpable.

Doubt that'll happen as Buh will think you've put a camera in there.

Is everyone who has a pepe avatar a “4chan user”

if so, this is awkward.

I’m not on 4chan, it’s another time well. Pointless.

the fact you’ve brought politics into it shows how weak your position is. It’s your go-to ejector seat. Just accuse them of being far right, that’ll show em’

like I said, you are a garden variety socialist. Never had an independent thought in your life. They’d have put you in a gulag in Russia for being so basic lol

I’m sorry guys, this has happened before to be fair. This guy thinks I’m some storm the capital building trump fan and I’m just not. He’s the ex-president of another country that I have no connection to. I don’t care at all.

He creates enemies to make up for his own shortcomings and internalised rage bought about by, I’m sure in part, addiction to social media and probably a wider internet addiction. Addicted to self affirming news articles and enraging yourself on counter arguments. It’s all basic stuff. He’s told me before he’s a teacher which sums it up beautifully for me. Those who can’t do, truly do teach.

I prefer it to how they did it previously, which was cold-call people on their phones or door-to-door sales.

Give me an ad that I can ignore over that any day of the week.

Good point   I really can't  remember the  last time I had an Encyclopedia Britanica Salesman  knock on my door.

Though the modern equivalent  is maybe  some  eejit phoning ro tell you in very broken English that they represent  your '  Internet Provider ' ...that  they can't name.........yada yada.

You mentioned 4chan many times on this forum, and have a Pepe the Frog meme, we all know what you are.

If it was me I wouldn't be thinking about the potential abuse. I'd be more concerned about all the baggage that would suddenly be thrust upon me for being the first openly gay footballer. This person would immediately suddenly become one of the most famous sportsmen in the country, the press would start harassing them and their family for interviews, they would be talked about more for their sexuality than their ability or achievements and if the player was playing poorly or maybe got a move to a level they couldn't cope with people would trot out tired cliches like "he's only playing because the manager doesn't dare drop the gay footballer' or 'we only signed him to virtue signal' and all that rubbish.

I can totally understand why none of them want to come out. It's sad but for the sake of their careers it's probably the better option.

I'm not going to ask you whether you'd support that player coming out or not, because if you wouldn't then you aren't the type of person that interests me and you can keep that opinion to yourself - football is 30 years behind the curve here.

But could you in all seriousness look that player in the eye and recommend that they come out? Tell that that this would be a good idea?

I honestly don't think I could, particularly not a young one with their financial security not yet secured. I just don't think I could look a gay football in the eye and think it would be a good idea for them to become the martyr, and to then suffer the decade of relentless trolling, abuse and bullying that would follow.

And I find that quite sad to be honest, but I don't think football (fans in particular) have moved on much at all since Justin Fashanu came out and then saw his career go downhill. I'm afraid I really couldn't see that going well for a player in English football, I think they'd have to do it and then escape to America - and how depressing that the USA, backwards in so many other ways, and with so many extreme opinions, would probably still be the safe haven for a gay male athlete (like Robbie Rogers)

How do you know we haven’t? Haven’t we had one before? Whomever they would have my utmost respect and support.

What question is it that you think you are answering here, did you even read my post? Try just reading the first two sentences if any.

Coming out as the first gay player could actually be lucrative.

Yes, he would get abuse 100%, but would it be any worse than the racist abuse we see all the time?

How often does a footballer have a chance to be THE first anything. He would become a hero around the world

True, they would need to be brave, it is a personal decision about a very private matter.  I have gay friend, when I first meet their partner, they tried to hide behind the front seats of the car whilst we were talking.  I thought it was really funny as had they just sat in the car in clear view I would have only thought they were giving a friend a lift…..  completely sussed it when they behaved so weirdly.

BTW I am pretty sure there are loads of gay female players out there, so it is only the gay male player who still needs to come out.

Most people wouldn't be able to do very much at all without us teachers.

Then again, I have always enjoyed that quote, being a history teacher. What exactly am I supposed to be failing to do? Live in history?

Also, I'm not a teacher, have never been a teacher, and have never told anybody that I'm a teacher.

The Real Buh is just a very strange chap who hangs around in the dark corners of the internet. 😁

There has been at least one gay player at Norwich in the recent past. That he chose to keep quiet about that is probably a combination of it not being anyone's business and not wanting the attention from the media that would come with it. But that's just speculation.

As a man who has shown no semblance of discernible morality during his posts on this board. Clearly someone didn't do a very good job with you.

Apologies for the red top, but interesting comments here.

Allegedly there are at least 2 gay players in the EPL.

Of course, it could all be made up, lets not forget that Amal Fashanu is the daughter of a convicted fraudster and the niece of somebody who sold dozens of made up stories to tabloid newspapers,

So that makes her a fraudster? She's not making any accusations, she is trying to help people. There's no need to come out to anyone, you can tell your family but it's nobody else's business. This article is obviously rubbish, we should stop the witch hunt, if anyone needs to come out it is the homophobes.

That is precisely why I hope it's not long before a top player does come out as such. But at the same time I accept it's their decision.

I'm incredibly confused. You say that the article is "obviously rubbish".

So are you saying that The Sun are making this up?

"The top-flight British star has spoken to campaigner Amal Fashanu — niece of ex-Norwich star Justin, who came out in 1990 and took his own life in 1998"

"Amal has now introduced the pair to each other, and they are in regular contact over WhatsApp and online"

Because she doesn't seem to be  objecting to the content on her social media? You seem to have created a paradox.

It is very likely we have a gay player , and that would be very normal and great.

Those that have a problem with this, are the problem!
