You are incredibly out of touch with the world aren't you buh. Who plays games on facebook these days?

Candy Crush is released on iOS and Android, people download games via those stores now.

Go back to 2012, or stop pretending to be a tech guru.

Unless you can prove that you are using an encrypted phone like the Zebra with a good VPN + a browser with a VPN built in, then you are being a massive hypocrite up there on that platform. Is obvious you don't know what you are talking about.

What browser you using Buh? Chrome by Google Edge by Microsoft? What phone you using Buh? One running Android by Google, or one running iOS by Apple?

Never shop on Amazon or use Amazon services? Don't answer that one actually, you are browsing a website hosted by Amazon right now:

buh.JPG.178c4445faea14a8cb6fff4c899dff6b.JPG

What an imbecile.

Any other area you want to show your distinct lack of knowledge in Mr. Guru? Fancy being a lawyer for the day? How about moonlighting as a doctor?

I’m not talking about being a Luddite here. I’m very adept with technology and a lot of it is positive, but social media very much isn’t.

Candy Crush was an example. The same technology used to make that addictive is used to make social media addictive. Congrats on being a victim of that, genius.

These increasing outbursts don’t make you look like an addict at all, keep em’ coming!

To be honest this complete abstinence thing you have going on makes you look like the addict.

Most people who go in a pub can have a few drinks with no worries.

Those that are anti-pub and have to abstain entirely from ever going in one are the problem drinkers or recovering alcoholics.

I've never really had a problem with over-using social media, I use social media so I get alerted to events like get togethers and gigs, which get me out of the house. Most people don't post photos or status updates in 2021.

You are clearly talking about facebook as it existed in 2010-2014ish time, it has changed substantially, users are a lot less active, if you had any idea what you were talking about you would know this. Or, indeed, if you picked tech stocks.

You have always been a miserable cynical tw*t so you are clearly aren't a great walking advert for ditching social media to improve your outlook or general wellbeing are you, didn't make you happy or positive. In fact, you are making me want to keep social media, I've never thought more of facebook!

I've never really had a problem with over-using social media, cannabis is the only thing I've ever done too much, and that wasn't hard to quit. I use social media so I get alerted to events like get togethers and gigs, which get me out of the house. Most people don't post photos or status updates in 2021.

It’s not abstinence, it’s ambivalence. I just don’t care.

Theres plenty of other stuff that would waste my time that I don’t care about, like medieval battle re-enactment or paint war hammer figurines. I just don’t care. You care though. You care so much you are willing to fight for your addiction.

The pub has addictive substances in it, yes, but it provides a net benefit, so it’s tolerated.

Your app usage statistics must be astronomical. That is incredibly sad I have to say. Imagine what you could do if you put that aside and did literally anything else. Imagine how you’d grow or improve yourself rather than howling into the void of social media.

like I said, successful people rely and exploit people that spend their lives on Social media. The time they waste on there is an attack vector. Continue to spiral into that particular well.

side note: Canabis should be legal in this country, again, net benefit.

Anyway, back to the OP. I’m not so sure that the USA is a safe haven for people from the LGBT community. Reported murders of transgender people are now over 40 per year-but LGBT organisations say that many more are mis-reported or not reported.

And this season marked a first for the NFL-a player on an active team roster has come out as gay.

Projecting aren't you mate.

Got no hobbies, no friends, want to concern yourself with what I do on the internet.

I actually very rarely pick up my phone, right now I'm on a desktop PC, so my app use is minimal. The one app I use regularly is Amazon Kindle, I read a lot.

You "don't care" about social media apparently. You care so little that on a thread about a hypothetical gay footballer you've written 33 posts about social media.

And we all know the real reason you aren't on facebook, or instagram, or twitter, is that nobody wanted to add you as a friend, and that seeing people went to school with having happier, more prosperous and more fulfilling lives made you bitter and jealous, so angry that you would embark on these bizarre two day anti-social media post binges.

Well I don't want to put the boot in any longer, I'm sorry - try getting away from the internet and taking up some offline hobbies, like medieval battle re-enactments or warhammer and I'm sure you'll make some friends in no time.

No offence, but as a neutral observer to this discourse, the pair of you look like you'd both enjoy a good session of painting a level 24 warlock whilst your mothers bring you a big glass of Sunny D.

Don’t see social media as evil = addicted to it. Brilliant.

Answered your rather bizarre notion that we shouldn’t spend a second doing things non constructive because successful people don’t and asked you if the amount of deaths attributed to social media (of which a % would most likely happen without its existence as bullying would take another form like pre 2000’s) could be outweighed by lives saved?, and the best you can do it repeat the addict line. I do wonder if you yourself know why you hate social media so much.

No idea what a level 24 warlock is, but I did get into Games Workshop once...

Ah yeah, I remember the 90s when I could sent offensive comments to someone on the other side of the planet, the good old days.

The way you are equating older issues with technology now is deliberately obtuse but I kind of get the feeling you could actually get off social media, unlike the other guy on here.

https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2021/feb/10/people-who-quit-social-media

Here’s an article it took me 10 seconds to find about how people that quit social media are overall much happier people, it’s even the guardian, which I know is very important to a lot of people on here as the solitary trusted news source.

You are so like one of those militant vegans who eat meat for 34 years, then start preaching about animal welfare after 3 weeks going meat free.

Look at you sharing facebook links on this forum a year ago... embarrassing!

Surely you must realise that a journalist writing an article about quitting social media is not either representative of the experience that billions of users have or goes to any lengths to show the positive sides. Did they ask the millions of people (inc me) who found a job on LinkedIn or people in elderly support groups etc? Anyway, I’m glad your reading the guardian and not just the daily mail, there’s hope at least.

Digging through year old posts? This is great look for you pal, keep this up. I was probably sent the link or something, what exactly is this supposed to prove except you are looking through my old posts like a maniac

We are off the grid now to be fair. I’ve never rocked someone on here so hard they change their profile avatar. That’s new territory.

You've only been sore about social media since they started booting off all your alt right pals and the Donald.

Some of us frequently do go a week or more without checking social media, those of us who can exercise self control.

Does not require account deletion.

What irritates me is if say, I look for and then buy a pair of shoes online, for weeks after I’m still hounded by ads for shoes from the very company I bought from.

Drives me mad too.

For example you buy a hosepipe from Amazon - as one does - and within days you get emails asking if you might be interested in another hosepipe.

Surely one hosepipe is enough to be going on with ?

You don’t, let’s be realistic here. Your outburst in here supports that.

You are more dependant than anyone I’ve ever seen. You are a case study at this point.

You sure you don't use social media? How that emoticon habit start?

I saw your friend Milo is pretending to be straight to sell gay conversion courses now, love seeing you closet fascists cancelled everywhere.

That's why you don't like social media, had no problem when Cambridge Analytica could use it to win elections for your faves did you.

Who the hell is Milo? This is just weird now. I’ve been over the pepe thing with you x100 mate it’s boring now it’s a generic emotion avatar. It’s a Swiss Army knife of internet memes. You’ve proved that by making your own avatar a pepe you moron, god…

These outbursts just prove you spend a lot of time sitting on the internet getting mad. You would definitely benefit from a break before it gets worse. Go for a walk, watch a sunrise. You seem so damaged.

just whatever you do, 100% don’t do this, don’t go on google news search and put the three words “teacher convicted of” in there. Don’t do that.
