Hank shoots Skyler 2,094 Posted October 2, 2021 Was really keen to hear that whistle then! We’re being put under a lot of pressure but generally coping pretty well. This has been a definite improvement on the Everton first half performance. I’d like to see one of Tzolis or Rashica for Sargent though, he was great against Watford but been awful since. I think our midfield 3 is looking better. All 3 are putting themselves about well IMO. Burnley have been fading in games of late so the longer we can keep this 0-0 the better, could even see us nicking a win 😳 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

robertociNCFC 98 Posted October 2, 2021 (edited) Missed the first 10 mins of the half but from what i've seen we are holding our own in terms of physicality with Burnley which is a good sign considering how things went against them last time around, Hanley has played really well and Normann has been great in the middle. Hoolahoop14 124 Posted October 2, 2021 What a stressful half of football that was. Both sides really poor, not a great watch for a neutral I’d imagine, but I think we can nick a win a here. Whilst it was pretty backs to the wall stuff towards the end of the half, I think we’ve defended well for the most part and if we can keep that up and bring on some more direct players (I.e Tzolis and Rashica) we should be able to snatch a goal or 2 on the break. Looks like he’s got so much quality in possession and with the long ball but then in other moments can be so sloppy, it’s like he rushes things a bit too much at times, like his mind is going faster than his feet can work the ball. He seems liable to switching off a bit too, and certainly not close to a Skipp replacement when it comes to covering defensive pockets is he? He reminds of a Pogba or Xhaka type, he’s almost certainly going to be at the centre of everything for us this season (good and bad). Thank god that header didn’t go in toward the end of the half! We defended like our lives depended on it for the first fifteen, but we need to keep it up. Sargent has been doing a good job for me, harrying their defence & winning the ball on a couple of occasions before finding a team mate. Pukki's nearly been through a couple of times. It's coming.
