Thumbbass 318 Posted September 28, 2021 Bit of a mind dump of dull musings. Today's dump. Other nationalities are confused as to why we have 2 taps, one for cold water and one for hot water, and not a mixer tap. We're used to it and the reason being the old tank in the loft that had a dead sparrow in it was probably best not drunk from or mixed with your drinking water....but here's the dump... Most people have combi boilers now, if a tap isn't fully rotated to cold, the boiler fires but doesn't need to. How much energy is wasted daily by gas boilers unnecessarily firing due to mixer taps? They should be banned and separate taps you can't move with wet hands reintroduced. I know, I'm boring myself.

Mr Apples 1,320 Posted September 29, 2021 I was recently wondering what the point of chequebooks was these days and when the last time I used a cheque was...and then had to write a cheque today (and the last time was over two years ago according to the stubs). Living on the edge. 🤣 Apples

Ah now, and this is related, I defy anyone to come up with anything as boring as this. In hotel rooms with refreshment tray they have little elongated sachets of instant coffee, with a 'tear here' strip. Now in every case in the history of hotels I have been in the coffee granules have migrated to that end so to tear the strip you first have to push the granules down towards the other end.🤓 PS. And don't get me started on supermarket carrier bags that have double handles at either side... Edited September 30, 2021 by PurpleCanary
