Looking forwards to the next match.

We need a reaction and a backs to the wall performance at Everton and see if we can fight to get at least a point there.

Pretty sad, I have to say, and resigned after the one-two  of these home defeats. Praying we don’t set a new PL record this year. Wondering if Webber’s still got what it takes in  inspirational head coach recruitment, if it comes to it by say November. Hoping DF pulls something amazing out of the bag and rams my fears down my throat

It is kinda the fundamental issue isn’t it but it has clearly passed you by, I understand it is difficult concept for the more simple amongst us to understand

Things to do by DF

1.

Stop attacking players from crossing ball into dangerous position.

2.

Address problem of attacking players at corners “ghosting into space” at far post and scoring. 🤔

3.

Defenders to remain balanced and on their feet when defending.

etc……etc

They are all fixable, with the correct mindset of defence first.

Feeling a bit hungover from it all really.  As LDC, my underlying feeling is also looking forward to see what we bring vs Everton.

Just watched extended highlights this morning and Farke/Riemer looked quite lost/dismayed in the dugout, so that's rattling around my head.

We had enough chances too on review.  Same old story though, not clinical enough.

Didn't anyone expect anything else last night?

It simply is not happening and I can only see it getting worse.

The project has failed, so either you change things or accept failure.

I wonder what the board will do....?

It was nothing like a 3-0 game but our incredibly soft defending mixed with poor finishing and execution made it that way. In terms of balance / performance we really should have scored at least a couple ourselves.

Feels like we’ve come full circle with farke now. Reminds me of his early days in charge. Disjointed all over the park, players not understanding their roles. We seem so slow and weak everywhere compared to everyone we’re up against. I don’t see him turning this around unfortunately.

Clear more than ever that the Socialists have to go.

They are entrenched and going nowhere.

We are all captives as City fans and these days the 'easily contenteds' are ensuring mediocrity will continue.

I was expecting a very passionate performance and resolute 'do or die' style defending - similar to how we defended vs Arsenal.  Expected that Liverpool would nick a few goals through pressure and walk home winners.

But the game was nothing like that, we had control for decent periods, and plenty of chances and managed to self destruct.

Our next back four.....

Could Winnie last the full 90 minutes? Slightly rotund these days and on 40 Woodbine a day. Definitely worth a go though if the 4 look decent in training.

Weirdly I still think we can fix this; here's why (and what we didn't see last night)

I honestly think we have players who are going to come good/go up a level. For me the prime candidates for that are Kabak, Normann, Cantwell and Pukki. With those players we have a spine of a side that we can build around and I think personally are capable of taking the game to almost all of the sides outside of the traditional top 6. I think if Farke is brave and is willing to be more ruthless with dropping certain players then we have a shot of make a really solid core group with some adaptable options around them depending on the week by week tactics needed for different opposition.

Disappointed, worried but relieved that we have a couple of away games + an international break.

3/4 points before Brighton would be smashing. Nick a point on Saturday then rip Burnley a new one perhaps.

Whilst true, it could also have been a lot worse than 3-0 too, Liverpool missed a few glaring chances, that young lad on his debut blasted over a fairly easy chance. At 3 I thought it would be 4 or 5 as we just downed tools...... Again.

Thats the funny thing isnt it, Football can be so mad and we could just get that bit of luck on Saturday; an OG, a big deflection, a penalty and a keeper red carded and we could be up and running. That dark cloud lifts and we go to Burnely confident and get something there too.

Whilst unlikely, strange things have happened than us picking up 6 points out of nowhere and all of a sudden the mood music and the atmosphere at the Brighton game changes 180 degrees.

Feeling that it's starting to slip away from Farke now.

Really not sure where we go from here. Still no clearer on our best defence, let alone first XI.

Bit of a shambles really and we need a huge slice of luck to kickstart our season.

Must go back to basics

Man for Man marking no point leaving players free because they are not in your zone

Clear the ball from Defence instead of a short pass playing a team mate into danger

last night Gunn did this to Gibson terrible ball Gibson had no other choice than to kick it out for a throw in in line with our area terrible schoolboy football

Must win Second balls

Hassle players get in their faces

go Ruel fox on the wings beat your man then cross up to the striker to be on the end of it if not he should have been

Stop asking Hanley to be Rio or John Stones he is a stopper not a Ball playing CB

Sadly only one outcome if you let in as many goals as we do and do not score

2 no shows at Everton and Burnley and boos might start as they come out the tunnel. You don’t fear a bad result now you just take it as a given. Needs to change quickly as it’s very embarrassing now.

Still rather annoyed. Some of the defending was pathetic and embarrassing last night. Big reaction needed Saturday.

I was so deflated and immensely disappointed with the result and our 'little boy lost' abject and poor performance. I trudged home afterwards, weaving my way through the other homeward bound and downbeat Canary fans. Got in, made myself a brew - and then sat down and watched 'Silence of the Lambs' to cheer myself up.....
