You don't hear too much about the old sweeper system anymore. Unlikely to happen, but I can envisage some potential benefits if teams play such a high defensive line like Liverpool last night. Gibson can pick a long pass over the top. Normann too it would appear, Mclean also, & our Chelsea wunderkind. We do need to mix it up a bit more & not be afraid to go a bit more direct sometimes.

Dropped Gimour as he is a hard worker but not tough enough for the ugly style we need to start playing.
Sorry Hanley and Gibson, you two are great at reading the match but not playing it, we can't afford that either!
Krul & Pukki - rested for a few matches, Krul as he seems low in confidence and needs that shove to up his game, Pukki to be a sub on last 30minutes destroyer!

I picked Rashica and Sargeant as they know each other's playing style and the same as Gianoullis and Tzolis, lets use those pre-existing relationships to our benefit.

I don't think he's ready to give up on his 4 3 3 yet.

And I think Pukki's movement could trouble Godfrey if he's played centrally.

I'd maybe go with this one. CAM position is maybe hardest one to pick for me though, but Rupp would maybe bring good balance in between Sargent and Cantwell, so I ended up picking him.

I really hope Farke has resolved the 3 at the back option, it has not worked and he has tried it several times.  Also 1 CDM does not work.  Therefore structurally I hope we go back to 4 2 3 1.  It is tempting to change personal but they looked exposed this season, and with 2 cdms they will perform better.  Then which players suit this system best.

We just need to play the way did last season, be harder to beat, grind out a couple of draws. I am certain with last season's confidence we would have played those games and had at least 3 points.
