Farkeball has temporarily gone missing

Recommended Posts

Here's the thing. We played brilliant football last season with players totally at home with the system and each other. That has gone. Half the squad sold or moved on and half the squad now new players. They haven't had time to learn enough about each other, they had a horrible few games to start the season and have now lost all confidence and don't look as if they know what they are trying to do - the old players trying to play the way we did last season, the new players trying to fit in and understandably struggling a bit.

All that in the most difficult league in the world and tonight playing against Liverpool in the cup was just a continuation of that trend + the 352 did not work well.

It is going to take a lot to turn this around - but to be positive, there is at least time to turn it round still. Every player has to dig deep, we have to play better, have trust in the system and get every player totally on board with how we play. Tzolis and Rashica do have something about them, as does Sargent - and Pukki can still score.

Keep the faith - a week is a long time in football and it would take just one hard fought point to start us on the road back to confidence and belief.

Agreed - except I thought there was enough about the 352 to try it again with better players.

Let’s hope you’re right and it wasn’t solely the presence of Buendia which gave us our attacking mojo. The performance at Forest last year showed we could do it without him… but the other 15 games without Buendia in the championship we won just once! So what is the common denominator?

The **** thing about losing him is seeing how inferior our attacking players now appear. Cantwell and Pukki not even close. Hopefully that changes and do start to find som rhythm.

Have you seen our fixtures in December? Almost as bad as our first 4.

So basically we’ve got until end of November to get decent points on the board otherwise we are in real trouble!
