Lapps Official Liverpool Match thread

There is a lot of doom and gloom on here. There have been some promising performances tonight. And there have been some real ar5e-clenching moments too.

There is enough shown so far to think we can get something from this.

We're 1-0 down because of Gilmour, he hit a free kick I'd be embarrassed by and he can't get the weight right on his forward passes.

Our standards really have dropped.

Why did we give Vrancic to Stoke? 😭

Giannoulis has been a bright spark.

Which means Farke will revert straight back to Williams Everton 🤣

Agree. The stats show we have been competitive. But somehow people at the moment just see all the negatives.

Rather confusing that Tzolis has been both our best and worst player at the same time

He’s 19 mate

Liverpool have had one shot on target.

And scored! That’s all they need playing this lot of mugs Ricardo!

I think you've got a vendetta pal. He's been very good.

Because we strengthened the squad but not the starting 11 - Farke has huge options but no real way of making a meaningful change. It’s painful to watch him chop and change and see no real difference…what next?

Onus really is on him to work out his Best XI and best systems. Clearly has no clue what it is at the moment and hoping to stumble upon it by accident. I do know though that you really need a settled back 4/5 if you are to have any chance of keeping clean sheets in the Premier League, and we've definitely not got that.

Jesus really? It was absolutely clear as you get. Don’t get when former pros can’t even try and be objective.

Seriously? Some summer transfer decisions might be questioned but not that one. You need to find a much better stick than that with which to beat the club.

3 at the back gives me more confidence seeing the fullbacks going to the opposition byline. I think it’s working for us but hard to tell as we’re playing kids.

Camera replays suggesting Gilmour at fault for not following Minimao? Or another failure of Zonal marking? If the latter Hanley was unaware who was in his zone in 2nd phase.

Some areas better but we are still playing like a team that knows defeat is inevitable.

none of the bravery or confidence which gave us such a swagger last season.

confidence is what we need more than a change in formation or players…..sadly that’s very hard to get without even a lucky win

Looks to me like the confidence has grown during the game

Tonight and the start of the Season why are we giving the ball away so easy ?

i would like to see the defenders pass a bit more direct over the press

passing about at the back all the time  is dangerous and Predictable

It's entirely a mental thing... we are playing well in general play, just consistently ****ting the bed at the vital moment at both ends. Should be winning this game.
