Next manager. Who should we get?

Recommended Posts

Gary Neville 😉

On a More serious Note LDC always backs the Manager i can not remember who but years ago was it Hughton or Alex Neil He was last man standing on this board for sacking

As For the first 4 games there were points to be had , i bet someone in the lower half takes points off them

Brentford have Against Arsenal Ok they had Injuries but still they beat them

you would not expect Brentford to beat wolves but they did

To say Write off the first 4 games was Terrible

in the Premiership we see any team can beat anyone

i think a lot of people are not unhappy with losing the first 4 games it is just how we lost the first 4 games

then Watford well that was a must win game

so you can trot out excuses but we had 15 points to play for and we have None that is the fact of the matter

Rubbish. You think the manager is scared? This was the man that turned a losing mentality into a winning one last season and how did he do that? By improving the squad and instilling belief.  He did that when he came to Norwich and he did it again last season. He'll do it again if our those fans that are fickle don't spoil it for him. No-one likes losing five in a row, but throwing away a coach of Farke's capabilities and mindset would be foolish. He is still the man and imo will prove that in the coming weeks.

He is not capable of winning games in this league. He needs to start or move over and give someone else a chance.

Chris Wilder...undermined by poor recruitment did an excellent job first season with a weaker squad.

Name the other couple and you’ve got the lot for the whole season.

Chris Wilder ...As I stated undermined by poor recruitment which he pointed out from the off...one bad season in how many successes?

The obvious candidates are either me with my very extensive knowledge of the game of football or the return of the Messiah with him as head coach and me as DOF

Now that would be a dream team

I think some people forget we are a professional team that needs to be judged on points won. We are not a experiment or a charity. Also we are not in the championship now.

I wish people would stop it with this '15 games on the bounce' cr@p. It's 5 games ffs. You can't bung two seasons ago into the equation when it suits

Jesus. Let's replace Farke with a guy who kept a team up in the prem for one season, and then with the same players plus some expensive additions, managed to finish on 23 points. Those 23 points only being 2 more points than Farke achieved with no budget and a group of players with no Premier League experience.

I agree, it's weird.

It has to be someone with extensive experience at this level, otherwise it is a waste of time making any change and might as well lose all the remaining matches.

So, who fits the bill?

Steve Bruce, Hodgson, Allardyce, Ranieri?

But we know the Socialists will not go for a big personality as it would be too much for them to bear. So, another tame relegation with a yes-man at the helm is the most likely outcome.

If we’d won 15 consecutive matches across 2 Championship seasons it wouldn’t be a problem mentioning it would it.

10 games after a long break due to lockdown, a whole fantastic season playing sublime football at times and then four of the hardest possible games before this last one. So not on the bounce, except on paper and if you are obsessed with finding a stick to beat the manager with.

**** me there's some awful suggestions on this thread, think I'm changing my mind from 'undecided' to 'give Farke a 20 year deal' if this is the best we can muster. 😂

Well, when we started the Championship season off last season, when we lost to Derby no-one said "Yeah, but the season before last we ended by beating Blackburn and Villa so technically its 3 wins in 5" or some rubbish.

So no, that would also be weird.

It wouldn't even be a thing, especially if there was a season in between.

There isn't an abundance of good managers who you'd see as a step up from Farke who aren't already managing in the Premier League, in my opinion anyway.

You can when the defeats are born from the same mistakes made two seasons ago.  We're giving the ball away cheaply and pulled apart far too easily at the back and allowing space to opponents.

If we had solidified and were missing chances that were leading to us losing then I get it, it's different.

But what we're seeing is a continuation of the same issues that plagued us previously.  The pundits are calling out the same naiveties and lack of organisation at the back and we're not learning.

So for me it's very much relevant and we need to use it to nip this in the bud as early as possible.  I agree in disliking the phrase being used somewhat incorrectly, and feel it's wrong due to the championship season - but we have to get real in this instance too and back the manager until it's obviously clear that we're failing.

I believe it’s still relevant and especially to Farke. Obviously the confidence was shot to pieces during project restart. To think it’s not toying with him to some degree now is naive. He definitely had a mini spat last week leading up to Watford and the pressure needs releasing with points.

10 games that EVERY OTHER TEAM coped better than us, you'd think the way you and others go on that we are in some way "the only team to suffer with Covid".

Yes Farke can win Championship games, his record in the top flight is appalling.

As for the 1st five games, Leicester were poor and we gifted them 2 easy goals, Arsenal were poor and there for the taking (one shot on target) . A team that was below us last year, bosses the game & yet again we made it easy for them to score.

One goal in five games from open play,  2 scored 14 against.

I feel sorry for Farke, as not replacing Skipp adequately and selling his best creative player & one that worked so hard to get the ball back, has made his job that bit harder. BUT, he said he is happy with his squad so he needs to turn around these below par performances quickly, otherwise it's only sensible to look at other options.

We're  bound to get some crosses in.

And possibly some conversions... probably a bit of a Hail Mary expecting us to land someone of his lofty position though.

On the plus side, he wouldn't demand high wages and we could start our own wine business as he bottles up water from the Yare.

Losing the supporters, the poll on this  site would suggest otherwise, currently 60% are saying he should not be sacked. Another example of an opinion being portrayed as a fact..........

Losing the fans would be correct, I think you are reading it as lost the fans. That is of course assuming that less that 40% wanted him sacked a week ago etc. There is significantly less faith in Farke now than there was at the start of the season..ergo he is losing the fans.
