What Goes Around Comes Around - Spectacularly - Twice!!

Recommended Posts

Wow -the irony. Leicester have two goals disallowed for an offside player being vaguely in the eyeline of the keeper. I would grudgingly give the refs/VAR praise for at least being consistent - but it still seems utterly ridiculous to me to chalk off goals in these circumstances where the goalie clearly isn't going to save it anyway.

Thank for sharing, people may disagree with the rules, but watching the clip I can see why all three were given, and the application of the rules were consistent.  Well done ref.  Commentators do my head in, there should be a requirement for all pundits to do a referees course each season before they comment on the rules. That way at least when they say something it would improve the understanding of fans.  I took my son to referee a game this morning, parents and coaches all commenting away during the repeating what they heard on TV from some ex pro who is desperate to make themselves sound interesting.  It is like listening to the chuckle brothers commenting on a physics lecture - utterly pointless.

Yes, they may. In the same way people may disagree if you assert the earth is flat.

VAR was needed because the people were not up to the job. Inexplicably, they've put those same people in charge of it. That's why it's actually gotten worse since bringing it in.

If you've hired a **** builder, he'll still build a crap house regardless of the tools you give him.

First one is correct I think as keeper might have had a chance of saving that. Second one is a joke. This an example of a rule that officials are not applying properly as they are not looking at all necessary components of the offence. They are just giving it if the player is in an offside position.
