I think we'd be very unwise to make a radical change right now. Farke also needs to learn, the team needs to get better, he needs time.

We've bought an entire new XI. This is the first season he has had at Premier League level with significant investment. The players we have are a step up from their predecessors, but Normann and Kabak we got in late, Tzolis also pretty late. Rashica in pretty early and he's played every game as probably more ready.

I dont think now is the time to judge.

The last Prem season was a free hit. Men against boys, naivety all round and no investment.

This time round its different, but there are different difficulties this time.

I'm not so sure. Depends on the fans' reaction, of course, but if we put in another dismal display against Brighton and end up on zero points after eight matches, I'd expect the fans' reaction to be pretty unforgiving. Webber is a very ambitious bloke, and he's been able to give Farke his 'gun' this time around. He's going to have to learn how to make it fire very quickly, or he could be gone.

After today, I think we're down already. How can we recover from that? It's gonna take something special that's beyond Farke and his team I fear.

Palace lost 11 games at the start of one season and stayed up didn’t they? It’s retrievable. But only if we adapt how we play.

If we're at P8 L8 he almost certainly will have to go. Farke will not deserve the poisonous atmosphere that would 100 % come with that record.

We are even worse than our last 'effort' in the EPL. If the club are serious about staying in the EPL, he has to go.

But why is your pre season prediction more relevant than the actual game situation which transpired where indeed they were half a side, who also performed rather terribly on the day I thought despite picking up the 3 points!

Usually you'll make a predo looking at their position in the table. We all know Leicester are currently a team that is around the Europe places and indeed just missed the top 4 in the last two seasons. I see what you're saying, but when we discuss, say, the end of a season then we're not likely to remember the peaks and troughs of other teams.

Crikey, we've plenty who forget we had three centre-halves out for most of our last season in the Premier League!

Don't get me wrong, I have a lot of sympathy for Farke. I love the way he sets the team out to play - it was beautiful to watch last season. But it's increasingly clear that we don't have the players to play the way he wants to play at this level.

Last year's performances showed promising signs - a newfound solidity and defensive smartness replacing the swashbuckling approach of previous seasons. But personnel changes have set us back. Maybe, just maybe, if we'd kept Emi and replaced Skipp with someone like for like (difficult with our budget, admittedly), we'd have had a fighting chance. But instead we caved, sold our best player, then rolled the dice and brought in players who on the evidence so far, are nowhere close to the players they replaced.

I genuinely don’t want him sacked. He’s done great things for us and our club is so set up for Farkes way of doing things. But where do you go if we just continue to do the same thing and see the same results. Desperately need him to do something to change it.

I don't either, I also desperately want him to turn it around. Big ask, though. Let's hope he's got something up his sleeve.

I don’t agree we had a defensive smartness last season. We still let most sides have 2 or 3 great chances every game. They just generally didn’t have the quality to take them, except for teams like Watford who beat us twice playing exactly the same way they played today.

Fair assessment. Our record without Emi was lousy and we are a shadow of the side we were last year. All the momentum has been lost.

He has to realise he does not have the best squad and must make the most of it. He can't.

Your definition of disappointing clearly doesn't match mine. I'd expect to lose the first four we had so whilst I don't like the defeat, I am not surprised that it came. This one is a disappointing one as I was sure we'd be more than capable of getting something. In short, we played below expectations.

Southampton went to ManC and didn't expect to get beat. Brentford didn't expect to lose to Arsenal. We cannot keep using that as an excuse.

At best, we perhaps should have had a point against Leicester. But our best is nowhere near good enough.

Today wasn't disappointing. I expected to beat Watford. So it was a disaster. A six point swing to a team who had lost their last three.

I don’t understand spending a huge chunk of the Buendia money on fast wingers and then trying to persist with the slow possession style.. I thought we would be more Lambert like. Unless our best 11 become clear soon by the time we know them it will be too late.

unfortunately I am of the opinion now that Farkes tenure has coincided with a purple patch for our academy and our recruitment team (which has now fled) which has done more to create the myth and legend of Mr Farke than the man himself.

finding it hard to continue rejoicing in being self funded and debt free while creating new unwelcome records but will try as apparently that’s what we are supposed to do.

Getting a bit sick of rather random team selections tbh. It's a different back 4 every game, a mismatch in midfield and now we have Sargent wide right when we have the likes of Rashica, Tzolis and Cantwell. Don't get me wrong Sargent did well but Danny Rose must have thought it was Christmas.

If we are to persist with bombing Williams forward with no cover behind then it will be misery every week.

Love Farke, but if it's 0 points after the Brighton game then I think enough is enough. We've spent around £70m, the best squad we've ever had and it's a mess.

For me, Farke is seriously struggling.

His move from a proven 4-2-3-1 formation, to accommodate players such as Gilmour, is an error of judgement, whilst his persistence to continue with it borderline incompetent.

He's now picking a different team every week in an attempt to find a result,  but quite frankly his selections are confusing and chaotic - whilst his in-game substitutions baffling! Any sort of control we've had in the last three games was surrendered by poor changes to key personal!

There's zero cohesion or consistency in anything we're doing right now. He doesn't know his best side, and that's a huge problem. We have £16 million of talent in Gibson and Gianoullis that seem to have been written off already. He needs players gelling and partnerships working again. Gianoullis and Tzolis down the left seems to be a good place to start!

Honestly didn't think we could be this bad, and have no idea where this is heading. I certainly didn't think for one minute Farkes position would be under threat, but it surely has to be.

I can't see how this turns around. There is nothing to suggest in the 5 games so far that we are capable of beating a single side in this league. Currently, we streets behind teams we'd hope to compete with, as Watford easily proved today. Many could see today happening too, following the first four games.

Farke just sign 4 year deal and all was so happy with that !

Now after 5 games all ask to be sacked !?Seems like big joke this really.

I fully agree that we look hopeless and seems very probably we will broke many negative records but lets show some respect and support manager a bit longer he really deserve that !

My opinion is that if this negativity exploit next weeks sport-director will be first to gone not Farke.

approach is wrong and seems we learn nothing from 2 years ago, this league is brutal and with our style we are not compeatative at all.

Lets be behind  the team because to cry for  coach change in 5th round is not what proper supporters do it!

I will fly 2000 miles for Liverpool cup game to  support the team!

I’ve had some time to cool off and try and approach it with a clear head. For me that was a must win game, but objectively it was a must not lose. Realistically Farke will be given more time to turn it around of course. These is a team assembled to play the style he wants, and he’s just been given a long deal. But I’m not really seeing how this is all comes together. Does Webber bear some blame? Perhaps. Gilmour looks a luxury and Rasicha looks like Marley Watkins. But the others provide something.

I’m looking at Brentford away, 6th November. Before then we play Burnley, Brighton and Leeds. If we’re still looking like we do today and lose against Brentford, Farke is gone by morning.

We went out and splashed the cash (for us) to bring in quality wingers, then we play through the middle and put Sergeant out of position (on the wing ahead of those wingers), we play Gilmour out of position when bang out of form. We bring Idah on with 2 minutes to go. We bought Rashica in for a club record because he was a "world class" crosser of the ball (who keeps hitting the first man) and a set piece specialist (who hasn't yet taken a free kick). We switch out our back 4 every game. We Somehow blindly pick Rupp as "the first man on the team sheet" then drop him the next game hours after backing him. We have no plan B. We can't decide on a formation. We blame supporters for "making a fuss" when clearly the team is playing like a crock of crap. We hear Webber tell us how lucky we are to have a future Champions League coach at our little tiny baby nothing club... sick of it. We have 100 years of history. We are a big club. Top 25 in the biggest football country / league in world football. He's lucky to have us too by the way! I'm done with Farke making excuses. Don't get me started on these embarrising records we're now smashing. We're better than this!

Farke deserves time based on the performances delivered last season. The board will probably give him more time than any other club would particularly as he has brought stability to the position after the up and downs we had post Lambert.

Having said that our performances at this level are a joke and I don't see them getting better. We can list all the excuses under the sun:

1) The sale of Emi

2) COVID-19 and a disrupted preseason

3) Significant squad turn over

4) Working with limited budgets and building for the future.

Ultimately, regardless of the circumstances we are now in a league that pulls no punches and the team need to perform. It is the manager and his coaching staffs job to deliver not just results but performances that the fans can get behind. At the minute Farke is doing neither.

I genuinely don't believe we will get to double figures in points this season given what we have seen so far. It is unbelievably depressing to know we have another 33 games of this to go. Undoubtedly with Farke in the dugout.

I think we have come so accustomed to relegation and promotion, that we almost assume that if we go down, it's inevitable that we'll always bounce straight back, and as such people are willing to take the pain of relegation expecting an easy promotion with attractive Farke style football the following season.

Let's not forget how easy it can be to get stuck in the championship, or how difficult it is to get in the prem. As such now that we are there, isn't it the responsibility of the board to make a good fist at trying to stay up?

I'm not saying Farke needs to go, but at some stage the board has to have that discussion, because if we do go down, I doubt our better players will stick around this time.

I wonder if Farke would benefit from hiring a defensive coach to work under him and bring some fresh perspectives?

Our defensive frailties have been there pretty much the whole time.

You lost me with this bit.

He doesn't deserve time based on the performances from his last premier league outing.

^ This... I'm sure Farke and his staff are brilliant at what they do but we do need somebody to go in there with real defensive knowledge and help to find a balance. We've had defensive issues from day one... but then, we've always had defensive issues here

Think it’s a combination of factors.

The self funding model means we can’t retain star players and also have half an eye to the future when making signings rather than what we need right now. For me the biggest contrast with Brentford is their approach to the transfer market this summer. Targeted two key signings at CB and CDM and got them early. They recognised that defensive soundness is the key at this level and have actually gone 3 at the back. But other than that they have retained continuity as most of their team is unchanged.

Alongside that we have a style of play that will always give the opposition chances, especially on the counter. You get away with that in the champ but not at this level. Although I thought Normann looks good he’s still not quite the “sit in front of the back four” type player I think we desperately needed. And we have a manager who is always reluctant to depart from his principles and, let’s be honest, has never got the defence well drilled or marking well. Our defensive stats last season were good because we dominated possession and a lot of teams  didn’t really have or weren’t able to have a go at us. I never felt the defence looked as solid as was claimed. They still had errors in them or let the opposition have a couple of clear cut chances in every game.

This time it could be quite a disaster. The new signings haven’t come to play in the champ. The loanees will go and we seem to be intent on alienating Todd and Dimi.

It needs asking. Why, 4-3-3 when we as supporters can see the players aren't up to it. Yes other formations will leave us open for more attack against us but, surly, it's a risk worth taking?

For what it's worth.......

Krul

Aarons

Omabamidele

Hanley/kabak

Gianoulis

Normann

Sorenson

Tzolis

Cantwell

Rashica

Pukki/Sargent
