Team for Leicester

Recommended Posts

It's very noticeable that it's Friday and no-one has suggested a team for tomorrow.

It just goes to show how difficult it will be for Daniel after the performance midweek and the players he has at his disposal.

I'll start it off with: Krul, Aarons, Hanley, Gibson, Giannoulis ........ and I'll let you finish it off.

GK: Tim KRUL
RB: Max AARONS
RCB: Grant HANLEY
LCB: Ben GIBSON
LB: Dimitris GIANNOULIS
CM: Billy GILMOUR
LCM: Pierre LEES-MELOU
RCM: Kenny MCLEAN
LAM: Todd CANTWELL
RAM: Milot RASHICA
CF: Teemu PUKKI

Subs: Gunn (GK), Zimmermann, Omobamidele, Sörensen, Rupp, Tzolis, Sargent, Idah, Dowell

That's my guess. One switch, McLean in for Rupp.

Subs: Gunn, Omobamidele, Giannoulis, Rupp, Sorensen, Rashica, Dowell, Pukki, Idah.

EDIT: This is what I'd select, as opposed to what I think Farke will do.

The first is more likely, the second I like more 😉

I'd like to see Idah get more time, he scored a few pre-season and has looked dangerous when he's come on, same for Dowell.

I think Farke will change Williams for Dimi and McLean for Rupp. Best to protect the young strikers while the defence gets sorted out.

All depends on the performance of the team and each player really. Tzolis, Sargent etc will all have opportunities to impress off the bench.

Like that one. I haven't been impressed by a Rashica's defensive capabilty to justify keeping a Tzolis out.

I wonder if the more experienced Pukki will start though to threaten the potentially weakened Leicester defence.

Will be interesting to see which partnerships spark as well, you'd expect Sargent and Rashica to gel having played together before, but it sounds like Sargent and Tzolis are hitting it off too.

McLean for Rupp but not other changes is my bet of what Farke will do. Tzolis to come on after about 60 minutes and (hopefully) play his way into the starting lineup from that point onwards.

Whilst Giannoulis had a bad game last week, he was excellent the week before (and last season) and deserves another chance. I'd play Tzolis but I don't think Sir Daniel will.

I think he will, but he doesn't seem to be his old self yet , which in some ways is understandable. I think giving Sargent a go would make sense... You could see the guy was hungry and he works hard...he would weigh on Leicester's makeshift defence

3 changes from me from the Man City

In with Williams, Kenny & Tzolis.

Out with Giannoulis, Rupp & Rachica.

And even that is not 100% decision. What ever the team, we now have a bench that can be used at anytime of the match if you are not performing, that's a big deal for me.

Today's presser casting fitness doubts over Tzolis and Sargent.

Won't be surprised if the only change from last week is McLean for Rupp.

Tzolis has to start. Simple as that in my book. I think we could play 4222. Pukki Sargent tzolis cantwell just behind. Leicester are short in centre backs

No he doesn't "have" to start after a half good game against a weak champ team ffs.

The nonsense spoken on here.

Drop Rashica? Laughable, he's only just got started.

Pukki will start. Sergant won't.

McLean will come in for Rupp ,although  I would, bring him in for lightweight lost boy Billy elliot.

Williams will start.

Rashica has faced Liverpool and Man City, where we got hammered (as a team). Tzolis has faced a 3rd string Bournemouth (not to say he wasn't excellent and I get that he could only beat what was in front of him).

This does mean I would fully understand if Farke stuck with the previous team with the exception of Kenny in.

If it was not for the injury news that just came out would have gone with this.. Although I would not mind seeing this lineup in the future. What do we think of this?

In the future?

We are trying to sign another midfielder which sounds like Carvahlo or Normann, so Sorensen won't be starting, unless PLM falls out of favour.

Can't see Cantwell being dropped unless he's been sold.
