Making Plans 873 Posted August 16, 2021 Picks Alisson for the Goalkeeper of the Week after his saves from Pukki and Gibson. He then spends the rest of his comments slating City. Not quite sure how that all adds up but knowing Crooks, adding up is not one of his strong points, even if he has any strong points which is highly debateable. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/58224395

hogesar 8,587 Posted August 16, 2021 The problem with someone like Garth Crooks' is he won't be able to name one of our new signings. He has absolutely no idea what we've done over pre-season or in the transfer window.

He is the Chris Eubanks of Footy, he thinks he's a gifted orator with great insight and knowledge and he thinks we should think that too. They have a very similar way of talking.....which they seem to find much more magnetic than their audience do. Self important, bombastic narcissists the pair of them. Just to be clear, I'm not a fan of either.

At least Savage does it on purpose and is purposefully being a c*ck to get a reaction. Crooks is in the same category as David Pleat, completely unaware that he talks b*llocks and thinks he is making sense.

Stuck in a lift with those 3, fook dat. Savage would be decent company.....in comparison to them. Edited August 16, 2021 by wcorkcanary

When QPR were cheated their way to the Championship title by fielding a third-party-owned player Pleat was the supposedly expert neutral witness. And he claimed that unless it was Maradona or Messi or some other such genius the vast majority of players didn't make a difference to a team's performance and so it didn't matter if this one was ineligible... Graham Paddons Beard 2,171 Posted August 16, 2021 Garth Crooks . FFS. If he was half as clever as he thinks he is , he still wouldn’t be very clever .

curious yellow 184 Posted August 16, 2021 Too early to make judgements like that, he probably only watched the highlights. He should stick to his country music singing.
Branston Pickle 3,257 Posted August 16, 2021 Does seem rather unnecessary to be quite so harsh on us - and if we were that crap, how come two of their players played well enough to get into the team if the week?

mathew 1 Posted August 17, 2021 Garth Crooks, I can't believe he's still about, his footballing views are well dated just like lawros.
Yellow and Green 325 Posted August 17, 2021 The most revealing part of that was his dig at Pukki, who "seemed to take forever to get the ball under control". He took two touches to control a ball coming over his shoulder! Crooks has literally used as many column inches to slate us as he can get away with. He clearly did no research. I just pray that we prove them wrong and stay up.
Bonzo 198 Posted August 18, 2021 (edited) Many of these commentators go with the pack mentality. They will slate the losing side and praise the winning side with no real thought or insightful data based analysis. Their objectives are largely contrived to garner popularity or to act as the instigator of trite click bait type headlines. With the relative scale of audiences for media commentary in the Norwich Vs Liverpool game favouring Liverpool we should expect commentators like these to pitch their faux analysis in favour of the bigger audience. Savage is an out and polemicist shamelessly willing to jump on any horse a la Piers Morgan and Crooks is simply lazy. Neither of these two are anything on Souness, Neville or Keane all of whom are uncompromisingly authentic. Watch these two lightweights change their tune when we win. Their opinions are worthless.
