dylanisabaddog 3,798 Posted August 11, 2021 Well almost. Mulbarton beat Lakenheath in the first preliminary round last night and now play Hadleigh in the next round on Saturday 21 August. Entrance £6/£3/£1 with a cheap bar. There is a small amount of unreserved seating. We're away at Man City so something to do. Last night's game had just about everything. A noisy crowd of 250, a winning goal that resembled Todd's effort against Man United, two red cards and an ambulance on the pitch.
LaUnionCanary 69 Posted August 11, 2021 We probably will never play 1p5wich in the cup again. They have to get through two rounds first, which may never happen. 1
FenwayFrank 2,318 Posted August 11, 2021 I was there too Dylan, to say Lakenheath lost control of themselves is an understatement
Crabbycanary3 994 Posted August 11, 2021 Those damn Yanks, coming over here............... The World is getting a lot angrier and I suspect there will be a record number of red cards in lower League football

Is there a common denominator you haven't thought of Hoolahoop?

I wasn't quite sure what they were so upset about but I know some of the Mulbarton players so I'm a bit biased. The serious injury was the players own fault I'm afraid. Sorry to see him get hurt but he was completely out of control from the start of the game Cracking second goal for Mulbarton. Hopefully they'll have 2 or 3 missing players back for the next game. The Raptor 978 Posted August 11, 2021 Mulbarton have a habit of making people angry in the cup. The ref sent the opposition manager off two years ago! That was 0-0. At least you got goals this time. Grew up in the village and my parents still live there. I try and drag Dad along once or twice a season. Up the wanderers!

The good news for me is I can see Wroxham taking points off both teams in the league
cambridgeshire canary 5,821 Posted August 11, 2021 Remember when Ipswich fans were waving notes at us and chanting 'we'll never play you again!' at us all those years ago? It's funny looking back now isnt it? They were right.. in a way

They were right.. in a way Even binner fans are embarrassed by that and that is some achievement as they have had so much to feel embarrassed about since Bobby Robson left them for dead ... and never returned. I'm hoping that we actually do draw them in the 3rd, round of the F. A. Cup this season, in the unlikely possibility of them even getting that far. They don't do cup runs, they don't do winning games, they don't do big crowds, yet hardly a day goes by on TWTD where there is no mention of something connected with their illustrious past. They reminisce most of all. That's what they do do. Result (at a packed Portman Road of half in the yellow?) I am salivating at the thought, and even more than Pavlov's favourite dog ever did.
