Liverpool game, don’t wish to go!

Recommended Posts

I feel due to health issues, at this stage I have no wish to go as yet.

Today I tried to get in touch with ticket office regarding the buy back scheme. What a fiasco, no guidance anywhere how to do it.

Anyone offering any guidance on here would be welcome.

It is a over age 65 ticket in the south stand, club will pay £15, and probably sell it for £48. I’m happy to let a supporter in the Gt Yarmouth area have it for the same £15.

If anyone local are happy to pick it up from Bradwell, let me have your contact details, on this site, and I will then make arrangements with you.

People are paying a lot more than £15 for tickets to this game. You could probably sell it for £150. If you have someone that you usually go with who would be willing to deal with it in-person to save you the complication of taking payment then they could just meet whoever at the ground and take the cash.

I use the buyback scheme a fair bit. What i do is email the ticket office with my customer number to say I won't be attending the next match. In the past they have kept a running total of how much money I've accumulated, towards next year's season ticket. Now it seems they intend to pay the money into one's bank account (so they would need that info) match by match.

I agree the amount of money back is paltry compared to what the club will get if it can resell the seat, and as an OAP you will get £5 less than someone younger, despite there not being an OAP reduction for the price of a season ticket in the South Stand.

Please be careful doing this, it was made very clear at our Supporters Panel meeting that this can be seen as touting.

Do I get a finders fee?

Lakey has said in another thread that he's not a pensioner yet, so wouldn't count for the over 65 ticket.

I beleive you can upgrade though.

The touting angle is an interesting one - no one can go to every game, so s/t will often be handed to friends/relatives - possibly for £10/20 or whatever - and I don’t think anyone would complain, be they supporters or from the club.

There is a sub-issue with covid/covid checks, though - I would think they will want to see a match of the name on the ticket with the name on the covid pass, otherwise it is rather pointless?  Didn’t they want photo id to get into games during covid lockdown?  And does it work for away supporters?

Whaaat so we’re meant to read things before commenting ???

Suspect the finder’s fee may be off the table now then.

I don't think the club are concerned by that at all, but if someone is flogging a ticket that has a face value of £50 for £150 then it becomes a different story.

Many thanks for the advice given.

last resort , tried to contact the ticket office yet again, by phone. Two options, no reply on either. Emailed them, reply said they would get back within 5 days…Liverpool game in 4 days…are they all working from home?

Just hope the team performance is considerably better than the ticket office, otherwise we are doomed.

Such a shame to see a ticket wasted

The tickets part of the website is easy enough to navigate the buy back option; I've used it many times. £20 might not be brilliant but it's double what they've ever paid before.

Why could you sell it for probably £150 as you state Petrix when as of 5 minutes ago on the club website tickets are still available in the Upper Barclay, Lower and Upper Regency Stand and the Snakepit ?

I'd strongly recommend against selling it to anyone but the club. An idiot behind me gave his ticket to a Liverpool fan last season who let him down badly.

The season ticket holder got a warning letter from the club and the bloke from Liverpool lasted about 25 minutes.

I guess they've released a small number of buy-backs and from people who've just decided to defer their season tickets. They'll be gone by the end of the day.

I guess it depends who you know. I've got a whole bunch of people I know personally who would bite my arm off for a ticket to this game. None of them would 'let me down' so to speak.

@Greavsy @GenerationA47 @TIL 1010 Thanks for your tips guys.  I looked at the ticket availability yesterday and got put off by the price (£48) tbh and started having second thoughts about travelling down with the cost of fuel etc.  Much as I always try to get the first game of the season, which I have for several years until last year, I'll save the money and try to get to more away games when that is possible and try to get to CR later in the season (when we are pushing for a European place 🙂 )

Unrelated - I sent you a PM a few days ago - Did you get it?

You’re welcome, LDC

Is that your score prediction at the bottom? pleased if it ends up being the away team’s tally

Ha! We'd all settle for any score that has Liverpool scoring 0 goals.
