Not long now before we face Liverpool. And we have pre season games being cancelled and no sign of the additions…not the best preparation. Let’s hope Liverpool are in a similar state or it could be messy. Any idea if Hanley and Gibson are fit yet?

It’s Kenny that had the longest lay off, I believe it’s only him that will miss the start of the season.

To be honest with you, I’m kind of pleased we’re not playing Sheff Utd. Exactly the kind of ‘friendly’ where we’d lose a player for the campaign ahead. In a weird way, I think we might come out of this a bit better and will be nice and fresh for the start of the season.

Obviously frustrating re the cancelled friendlies but not much you can really do - in some ways although disruptive would rather to have a COVID outbreak now instead of halfway through the season with crunch games coming up

You're an absolute bundle of fun aren't you? I'm surprised you haven't started a relegation countdown clock.

Also hogesar- please learn how to debate. This is a forum for discussion. Simply insulting people whose views you disagree with - is not how to hold a debate. Question politely, offer counter arguments and points. That is how it works. Unless you want a discussion board with one controlled narrative and no other opinions- which would be beyond boring

Hahahaha!

Says the poster who literally wails on here.

I think you'll find, that much like social media in general, you post your views at your own risk. If they turn out to be minority and proven to be a bit daft, then totally expect to get a response that will reflect that. Don't want to get hurt because your views draw negative attention frequently? Might be best to consider why that is before posting more.

I went to school with a lad like that. Kept winding other people up, they'd retaliate, he'd run bleating to the head teacher. In the end the head teacher would just ask him what he'd done to them first and if he lined he would give him lines to write and increase the number of sheets he'd have to do until he stopped.

Why moan and complain about the responses to your own posts? If they are not attracting the debate you want, maybe you should look closer to home as to why that might be?

Fascinatin, really, tell me more childhood anecdotes. Or, alternatively, we could discuss how the loss of warm up matches and the slow transfer window is going to effect the start of the season? You know- a football debate rather than a tedious examination of the quality of my posts…

DCB is correct that we face Liverpool in just over two weeks without a real test. Sheffield United would have been a good warm up.

I really hope the club can arrange something before the 14th or I fear a fixture that was going to be tough may prove to be even tougher.

Our points tally from the first 4 games was always going to be low even had we signed our 'A' list transfer targets on the first day of the window. We can't let the goal difference go to **** though.

Marchday 5, Watford, is when we need to be up to speed.

I hope you are right. As in recent seasons we actually did better against the top tier “footballing” sides and totally failed against the physicality of the bottom teams. Meaning this might matter…
