Ex-players you’d like to be on Radio Norfolk next year

Recommended Posts

I like the fact they have ex players on the commentary with Goreham and co, but who’s your favourite and who would you like to to be on there who hasn’t been on there maybe?

Of the current crop I like Mark Rivers. I’d like Robert Fleck, Dale Gordon or maybe someone like the Doc. Actually the more I think about it, my requests would be endless I think.

Pretty sure Dale Gordon lives abroad now,  Flecky has a full time job at a school and doesn't get involved in much else nowadays,  think the Doc is back in Ireland.

Percy Varco. He was from Cornwall and I would like to hear how he describes our foreign players

Word of the day ... Varco...Noun. A breach , hole or gap.

Looked it up because I thought Varco was Spanish for pig, which would have amused me.....it's  Cerdo/ Cerda.

Big fan of rivers! And I think when lappin is on its insightful

Love Cedric ansellin but he wasnt on too much last year, due to Norwich utd commitments I suppose.

Holty is good for any kind of cup match- gets well into it!

Who out of the current crop of players would you have on (if say God forbid they were ruled out for the season) my pick has got to be Timmy krul. That man, 💓 !

One of, if not the most, articulate is Russ Martin, also he is well informed, which is why he probably crops up on tv more than most.  It will be interesting to see how MK Dons perform this season, they played some great football last season but possibly not consistently enough.  A son-in-law of a mate of mine plays for Peterborough and both my mate and the player believe MK were the best team they played against last season and that they were lucky to come away with the points they did, which sort of reinforces the point re consistency??  Now RM has a full season under his belt I am expecting them to be challenging.

Chris Sutton.....a bit abrasive and occasionally controversial.....but he'd certainly make it worth listening to the commentary.....

Tettey would be amazing!

I quite like Hux and Rivvo isn't too bad.

Maybe they could get Matt Jarvis on, would love to hear more of his thoughts...

Would have to be Mike Sheron to inform us listeners on our attacking threat.

Oh...and mustn't forget (big) Keith Scott ...he could advise all us canaries on how Farke had got it all wrong😂

Or Swansea going on rumours today...

I mean, folks moan we haven't signed a lot of players but they are still to sign a manager!!!

I love Goss, a very, very good all rounded pundit. I like Anselin and Huckerby too. We're quite blessed really, there aren't many I don't like to be honest but I think Anselin brings an interesting angle to it. Would be nice to get Paul McVeigh on again as he's always quite entertaining.

The only one I have struggled with at times is Leon Barnett. He's a nice bloke, he just doesn't seem to know our players names that well, which can only mean next season he'll struggle a bit more!

Unfortunately, he spends his Saturday afternoons having verbal fisticuffs with the boy Savage on BT Sport (which in itself can be highly entertaining).

Yeah yeah I duz knows that.....but now that we're back in the top o' the pops league we can be playing Friday night, Saturday lunchtime (or evening) and possibly Sunday lunchtime or evening....or even Monday night?....When Chris isn't pullin'  the boy Savage's hair I'm sure Chrissy Sutton could spare a bit of punditry time for his home city club alongside the superb Mr Goreham?.....Don't know if Chris an' Rob Butler will hit it off though?.....
