Henri Saivets five year contract comes to an end..

Recommended Posts

https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/newcastle-united-henri-saivet-cost-20738300

Five years, just eight appearances for Newcastle in those years and has made around 9 million pounds from his weekly wages for all that hard work in his half a decade at the magpies. Not a bad job then! Wonder where I can do that lttle work for the same amount of money

And to think people moaned about Leitner, Drmić etc etc making wages from us without playing!

Happens at every club, every transfer is a risk to some extent and we've had plenty here at Norwich.

Luckily we've not had many with big wages aside of perhaps RvW and Naismith. Simon Lappin also springs to mind with being frozen out

Lappin did well for us though, we just outgrew him pretty quickly as Lambert, Culverhouse and Karsa sped us up the leagues.

Mulumbu has got to go down as one of the worst signings in that regard, although to be fair to him, he had played well previously for other clubs. No idea what went wrong for him whilst with us.

You saying that Saint Etienne, Sivasspor and Bursapor haven't paid any of his wages in the three years he has spent out on loan then?

No, Newcastle paid them. For some reason.

Despite the article stating

The move at least trimmed some of the wage bill as St Etienne took on some of his weekly wage bill, rumoured to be around £32,000 per week.

Do you read the articles you link?

The article says that he cost about 12 million pounds altogether: 5.4 million of this was the transfer fee, meaning that only about 6 1/2 million was paid in wages. This is approaching about 1 million per appearance.

No doubt that back in 2016 there was somebody on the Newcastle equivalent of the pinkun, saying that at 5 million he was "worth a punt." 😫

Oh right, well I've never had any problem with your endless one sentence threads, but when you start making things up that's a different story....

.... I mean 7 years of Louis Thompson being on our payroll for 16 games in all competitions. Can't just divide his Norwich salary + £1m transfer fee by 16 can you? He's been out on loan 6 times.

Since when did RVW and Naismith not want to play?

Part of the problem with RVW was that he was too desperate to play and returned from injury a bit quicker than he should have, and Naismith went out on a season long loan to play a full season at Hearts?

I never said they didn't, I just meant Jarvis was a signing with good intentions and he impressed initially before his injury. Yes it sucked for all involved towards the end but he really wanted to get back and play but just couldn't get fit.

Some miners union went to court to challenge Arthur Scargills right to live rent free in a luxury apartment in one of the most expensive areas of London until his death, he'd stay over a few times a year, talk about champagne socialist.

I know a fella who owns two private hydroelectric schemes. The electricity  board have to, by law, buy the electricity  he generates,  from him. The first one, he built on a shoestring. The second one, paid for by the profit generated by the  first, is much ,much larger. Every time it rains, he makes money, lots of it.  The hydro schemes are in the hills  in the west of Ireland.  It rains quite a lot, quite often. He keeps an eye on the Irish  weather report from his rather large Villa in Portugal. Smart fella, easy life.
