Meanwhile south of the border

Our friends are busy selling rubbish players and replacing them with others you've never heard of. And they've been drawn at home to Newport in the Carabo Cup. Posted just in case anyone isn't happy with the current situation at Carrow Road.

I did post on TWTD that we had sold one player for more than they sold their whole club and I appear to have been banned!!

PS in case anyone missed it, Captain Fistpump has joined Colchester

Everyone knows the best way to get promoted to the Championship is to sell all your players who have played in the Championship and replace them with players who have only played in the lower divisons.. wait..

Oh well, least they have Morecambe to look forward too

It may work for them but basically telling all bar three of your players they can leave and replacing an entire squad is quite a high risk strategy isn’t it. They did have some decent albeit underperforming players for that level.

Saw they sold Dozzell for a rumoured £1m to QPR. Wasn't so long ago that they were quoting us almost £5m.

Downes looks to be off too. Believe they rejected a couple of offers from Palace last season around the £2-2.5m area.

Not sure we can accuse them of buying players no-one has heard of with a straight face? 🤔

I saw Alan Judge had gone to Colchester, too - he was a really good player at Brentford before a binner player smashed his leg.

Then he got traumatised by Paul Lambert's management and Darren Drydale.

Bonne- 3 goals in 9 starts and 26 sub appearances and a player that West Brom feel isn’t good enough for the championship. They will make them better but that’s not really saying much bearing in mind how bad they’ve been the last two seasons

Harper is a pretty great signing for them, got a bright future ahead of him and is one to watch.

Or at least he would have been had he not decided to ruin his career by joining the binmen, no clue how they hoodwinked him into joining them and accepting eternal league one mediocrity..

Just a shame their fans won't be at CR waving their pension books in our faces.

Wasn't that Harper meant to be quite highly rated a few years ago? He's still only young so would seem like a good signing for a midtable L1 side.

Hard to reconcile the view that the pension fund would bankroll a rapid rise through the leagues with the other signings, though.

Great to see the new owners are showing the same spectacular lack of ambition and knowledge that the previous owner showed

Didn't he show ambition when he signed your Messiah? 😍

Dont you worry- They just signed a new first choice goalkeeper who started out at a club named after a gun factory, and has now joined them from the powerhouse of football known as Salford!

Double promotions to the Prem await no doubt

They seem to be getting quite excited about a few signings from lower leagues and what they term other "Championship type signings (failures?)

Its been years since anything that club does, any appointment they make or any player that they sign has actually been a success.

They have a right to be optimistic (as do all supporters,) to big up their signings (as all supporters do) and to inflate their own club's standing (as most supporters do,) so a degree of sympathy is surely needed .... because nothing will come off is my prediction.

Starting with Cook as a manager and ending up with the bullshine from "Mr Soccer" over in the good old US of A.

It will remain the gift that keeps on giving and if they fail agian next season to get out of L.1. then the whole house of cards could well collapse.

The buyers spent ages last time searching (legally) the training ground areas they eventually bought off Evans. That would seem to be their collateral should a return on investment not be realised within a couple of years.

They could well go under the radar this season and surprise a few ...... just saying !

I think it's impossible for them to 'go under the radar' in League One, however much we might not like it they are a huge club at that level.  I can't imagine anyone would be surprised if they were in the top six come the end of the season, they should be.

Looks like Colchester have signed a load of them.

They have 7 former Ipswich players in their squad now.

Apparently, they've have now renamed themselves "Ipswich A"
