I think we should let Ipswich Town sponsor us so they can finally see themselves in the Premier League

How about the Church of England, there can’t be any arguments with that surely. They’ve got plenty of money too...

Carrow Road is my church, we’ve already got a hymn, we can have 11 disciples, Farke is our God.

it’s a match made in heaven and open to limitless puns.

I'd turn this around and say we forego sponsorship and do something to put something back into the community so the Samaritans, Mind, EACH, Cancer Research - perhaps on different shirts is the way forward. I'm sure there are plenty of local charities. Pay them the direct proceeds from shirts and raffles etc.

And what happens to the shirts that don't get sold, and who pays to produce those shirts?

Nice idea but we can't afford a cut in revenue because it will come out of the transfer budget.

We're stuck with BK8 and will probably get hit with a lawsuut if we pull out. It's our fault we didn't do the due diligence not theirs.

We can't afford that and become a charity.

Norwich fans: Why won't we show some ambition, sell out and try to compete?

Also Norwich fans: urgh...not like that

There’s no need to bring sausage (fingers) into it again.

If Ipswich can be sponsored by the ginger whinger, perhaps we can ask our celeb fans eg Hugh Jassman.

Wolverine wouldn't look right because of the yam yams, perhaps we could go for The Greatest Showman or perhaps, Les Miserables.

Barcelona payed THEM to have that logo

but guess what? They’re loaded, so they have the luxury to do that. Nice for them.

Has their injunction against you expired then? . I suppose if they've been closed at least they havent had to put up with you trying on inappropriate clothing and accessories for a while. I did think you looked fetching in the Dutch milkmaid outfit

I know right. I like how this hanful of women get to speak for all female Norwich fans.

It’s not just a handful of women but we have a small group of “right on” fans who seem to have appointed themselves as “spokespeople” for our fan base and in many cases they could not be less reflective of a large chunk of it. I’m not a huge fan of this sponsor but we need the money. If the outraged brigade succeed in getting the deal ditched to the financial detriment of the club then I’m not sure that’s a great thing.

Not that loaded, considering their attempted deal to get Max Aarons.

This has all highlighted we have a serious problem here with these people. They are planning some sort of coup against the club.

They were loaded when they had unicef as a sponsor.

Ha. Worse than that. They are all proud of “self funding” and are intent on propping up the current dictators!

It’s not that I’m worried about. We seem to have an element of our fanbase that militantly has a viewpoint of what our club “must be” and disregard all other viewpoints.

its zealotry and it’s disturbing.

Not really. Remember, they didn't used to have a shirt sponsor at all but bit the bullet and then some when they stopped Unicef and went to Qatar Airways. Particularly as the Reuters piece shows (without paywall):

"Barca officials argued that the injection of funds at a delicate time for the club’s finances was necessary to pay for the development of their sports teams.

“We continue to have significant structural problems, which we have been burdened with for some years, but which are our structural problems now and which we have to deal with,” Faus said on Tuesday.

If we don't want to offend anyone, because it's impossible these days, then we simply shouldn't have a sponsor. Depends how deep you want to dig with a company to find perhaps how they invest their money, or who their shareholders are - there will always be something.

Really disturbing.

Imagine wanting your football club to stand for something positive and represent your community in the best light?

Those zealots need to get with the times and concede that clubs should be amorphous corporate entities with no defining principle aside from whatever benefit their hugely wealthy owners can glean from ownership.

They should just concede that we need to get sponsors whose sole marketing strategy is illegal softporn. It's not as if the club had a choice, is it? BK8 were obviously the only potential sponsor on the planet.

I'm of the belief that BK8 have done nothing wrong personally. People complaining about objectifying women need to have a think about their purchases over their lifetime. For example, if they wear a fragrance,  they often use male and female models in their TV adverts with very little clothing on.

In a thread full of dreadful takes, this one really takes the hotdog.

Where does it end? The club should stand firm or this cult behaviour will pervade into every aspect of the club.

And why is that? Because using women to advertise a perfume is ok, but a gambling company, it isn't? Hmmm. Its not even using anyway. Its a job, like any other. It's a right to work for all.
