Emergency canary call on Radio Norfolk

Thank god kids aren't allowed to gamble.

It's not about the gambling, bad as that is. It's about the videos of women simulating sexual acts as some kind of game.  Totally wrong for our club. Any club.

Precisely and we are a family club with many kids involved.

Are other clubs not family clubs, then?  Do West Ham fans worry about their owners when they are breaking into the top 6?  Is gambling illegal or immoral?

Ultimately we are a football club, which is many things to many people.  In this instance a legitimate business with legitimate sponsors. I still fail to see why this warranted a special phone in other than to massage Butler’s ego.

So, what’s your endgame here - we go with no sponsor?  Great for helping us try to stay up….

....that uses simulated sexual acts as advertising. Is that really ok with you?

I dont have as much of a problem with it as many of our prudish supporters, clearly.  Absolutely doesn’t warrant an emergency phone in - ridiculous.

Makes you ask why the owners gave it the go ahead knowing the backlash that it might bring?

I have more of an issue with betting firms being allowed to sponsor a club who are being bet on, I believe it could bring a conflict of interest! Ban all gambling from sponsoring sports clubs.

This is just hypocritical. You can’t preach the morality of the club while we take big chunks of cash from betting firms. Either it’s all wrong for the club or none of it is. This controversy is an absolute joke.

Just scroll back to the start of the programme for the interesting stuff of course 👍

I'm listening to it now, and trying not to shout at the callers 😛

"When Farke finds out he won't be prepared to sign a new contract!"

"Webber said we didn't need to sell"

"We not going to replace Emi with anyone"

"The club needs to come out and say something" (maybe just replay the Webber interview)

I could have understood it if Webber hadn't done an interview at the end of the season where he spelt out that we'd sell Emi, Max and Cantwell for big money if the offers were there, and to judge the club at the end of the window. God knows how the window will play out, but the sky hasn't caved in yet.

Can't help but think too many people just look for anything to get offended by now, is it really a massive deal? Does it warrant the over-the-top tweets I'm seeing from women who suddenly don't feel welcome at Carrow Road (give me a break) and men pretending to be outraged by it in order to look good.

Yes the sponsorship is cheap and tacky, but as usual people have to cling on to something and make it sound worse than it is. Anyone would think we're going to have PornHub on our shirts next season.

Have you ever ventured onto the internet? Because what’s been shared is nothing really.

I stand by my point. Some scantily clad women and one example of mimicking oral sex doesn’t align with our values, but betting firms that literally ruin people’s lives and prey on people -fun family time that aligns 100%.

It all adds up, doesn't it.  Gambling and using sex to advertise it. Marvellous. Money is at the heart of it, as always. Greed, exploitation and more and more sleaze creeping into mainstream society.

To be fair the phone in was planned to talk about Emi. I assume they needed to fill a slot. This just happened.

In some context this could be harmless fun but when it comes to gambling, sexual imagery is a big no-no in the UK. Some of it went beyond all this. One "BK8 Ambassador," with 260,000 Instagram followers, was promoting an OnlyFans page full of hardcore ****. A UK firm would not get away with doing any of this. But the UK's 'white label' gambling system grants access to the UK market to foreign firms operating via obscure intemediaries in Malta, or Isle of Man

The "Supporters Trust" are building a bonfire and won't be appeased until the poor sods in the commercial team who didn't google BK8 properly are sacrificed to the great god Mary Whitehouse.

Can someone explain to me what a ‘**** influencer’ is. I genuinely don’t know but if it is what it sounds like then that strikes me as more serious than risqué adverts and beyond the pale, and we certainly should not be connected to the company.

An influencer is a good looking person on social media who gets paid a lot of money to upload videos of them using a product to their sycophantic dim witted followers. But it's always presented as if it's not actually an advert it's the influencers actual advice or recommendation and somehow people fall for it and lap it up because they idolize these people.

I think it's a clumsy metaphor. A po r n influencer is someone using p o r n as a way of getting people interested in what they are doing ie p0rn, but in this context it is people using p0rn or simulated p0rn as a way of attracting people into gambling.  Either way it is something that we definitely should not be associated with.

What the hell is this poster on about?

NCFC has joined up with a company that exploits violent sexual imagery to make money. The impact of sexual violence that is common in hard core pornography upon young males is well documented.

My god what a fuss over nothing.

So many prudes around. Have we gone back to the fifties?

There is absolutely nothing offical that is distasteful going on here.

Wind in your woke necks. There are people programmes now to be outraged at anything.

I'm still wondering how scantily clad women, done of their own free will, is misogynistic, when girls do it every Saturday night in every city.

Get out and get a life.

I am still not clear. Is this company paying money to people who are in the p o r n industry who then use their tv channel or YouTube site or whatever it is to promote gambling in general or even this' company in particular?

Utter rubbish. Documented and proven? Show us the studies.

And please share the "violent" sexual imagery. This company have used.
