The players/staff must look on here with incredulity.

Recommended Posts

They probably don't look on here, but if they did, they would find some of the threads/comments hilarious. They must have a good laugh at the doomsayer threads which are so obviously trolling.

It's a bit sad too though, that there are those who just have it in their dna to troll a football forum as soon as something happens that they think they can exploit negatively. Presumably they do it to try and infect the rest of us with their negativity.  Some people succumb to it quite readily - those that are just glass half empty people anyway and so be it, but whether you are positive or negative about the club, we can all surely see the trolling for the ridiculous childishness that it is and those that only turn up when there is something they can try to put a bad slant on about the club.

The more rational amongst us can see the bigger picture, that losing Emi, although a blow, is a temporary blow - we'll move on, as we did after Maddison went and after Godfrey went and after Lewis went, each time upgrading the team to a better quality.  That is the truth of it and the players know that - its just a pity that the forum looks like a troll's playground at times like this and makes for embarrassing reading for anyone looking in.

The good thing is if any of them look on here, they will also see an incredible amount of support for them too, Lakey 👍

Actually  , I find it really good fun when people are having a serious whinge,  I love to taunt them.  To go back to your original point,  you're right, the players/ staff would wet themselves at some peoples childish one dimensional  view of progress. After all, it's so simple  isn't it ...... Throw money at it till it works seems to be their preffered route to success.

And, to be fair, there are plenty of posters who are generally a bit more negative in their outlook but still keep posting on here whatever without being rude to people who disagree with them. I think we all need to be mindful of geniune NCFC fans whose opinions are valid even if we disagree with them, and those who literally only ever come on here to try and wind people up (the likes of Keith Scott). There was always going to be a bit of wailing and gnashing of teeth after selling our best player for less than expected. It's what we do now that matters, and most fans are smart enough to be able to have a bit of a vent and then wait to see what happens next.

Think most of them have much better things to do than spend their paid working hours reading things written by people who know nothing about them crying about how they 'have no ambition'

You make some good points but I find it hard to accept given how some of your posts try and put a positive spin on matters to the point you become the antithesis of the sort of people you complain about in this post.

Your post in this thread is a good example. This isn't "a temporary blow". It has the potential to define our season. We shouldn't sugar coat that.

I have always been staggered that Keith Scott in particular has continued access on here. How has he never been banned when it’s obvious his sole purpose on here is to be antagonistic?

I actually prefer Keith Scott and his ilk, who, are quite clearly on the windup and therefore easily ignored to the genuine miserable sods that complain so readily about anything.

Because trolls generate responses, which generate clicks, which generate revenue.

Very fair point, ATG 👍. I think most of us are beyond caring about his antics now but I still think that shouldn’t be the point.

All true Wolfo, but the tripe some spout  cannot go unchallenged and mocked, Kennyo Foggyo earlier stated that the the training ground improvements  were bought/ paid for by the fans. ... they weren't. It was a very smart fundraising initiative...with good interest to investors  to the point that I wouldn't be surprised if the odd 1p5wich  supporter with a few spare quid saw the sense in investing. His way of packaging shoite is underhand and misleading and needs to be called out as there plenty thick enough to follow a disingenuous mouthpeice.... Farage has his followers  too you know.

I didn’t want to be so cynical to say as much, but this was the only reason I could think of too Wolfie.

Archant is a business, I have no problem with them wanting to maximise the revenue they can generate through their site. If that means I have to put up with a few trolls, that's fine. I just stopped biting, it's pretty easy to work out who's up for a fair conversation and exchange of views and who isn't.

So, let’s get this straight: any fan who questions selling our best player immediately after getting promoted must be a troll?

According to whom? About five posts ago, I said this:

"And, to be fair, there are plenty of posters who are generally a bit more negative in their outlook but still keep posting on here whatever without being rude to people who disagree with them. Which camp are you in, Bunny? Up for a fair discussion with fellow NCFC fans, or just here to get a rise out of people?

“Potential” being the key word. Let’s see what happens next....

IMO Max goes too - both because like Emi he’s way too good for the Championship - and he’s too short to be the right back we will need for this new EPL season.

Don’t worry Lakey if they haven’t missed the reaction on the Pink’un they just need to turn on the radio, scroll through Twitter or listen to literally any neutral fan’s opinion of it...

A post knocking the posters!

Not negative at all.

It's healthy to post your views and it's not essential for them to be positive.

It makes sense for people associated with the club to get an idea of the views of the fans.

The general opinion from yesterday was that Emi was sold too cheap, but that we now need to significantly strengthen the squad and now have a fantastic opportunity to do that. Really don't see the problem there, or the point of this thread, other than to troll.

I hope someone from the club does read this forum  (it's pretty standard practice for businesses to monitor social media) as they will gauge the current mood. Frankly it shouldn't come as a surprise when the fans favourite has just been sold.

If players surf this forum and get upset by what they read, then that's really their problem.

Was getting surprised Lakey was so quiet, losing your touch to take this long to start your thread.

Funny thing is it was Lakey who was making out that Arsenal wouldn’t even be the right move for Buendia at long length only a few days ago. Now he’s on here thinking posters’ reaction to this transfer is hilarious? Considering he thought Buendia should hold out for Man City et al you’d think he’d be the most disappointed of all!

And during that thread Villa weren’t even in the discussion, they were just a mark who would place a few bids and get us a better price from a top club. Nothing more than that. No one saw this move coming whatsoever.

So it’s really not hard to fathom that there is shock and massive disappointment that he’s ended up at a club which most posters considered nothing more than a pawn in the transfer proceedings only a few days ago.

Things will settle once we start to make a few signings, but I don’t think there has been a total overreaction on here. Of course there have been some emotional / knee jerk posts (myself included), but I imagine you’d find quite a few players with similar feelings of disappointment at this current moment!

Now it’s over to Webber to put things right 👍
