TeemuVanBasten 3,328 Posted June 6, 2021 (edited) Loads of people blasting Buendia for choosing Villa, a few with nasty undertones. I thought the news was that we'd accepted a bid from Aston Villa. That doesn't mean that other clubs won't now come in and match that price? In order for a club to speak to a player they must first get permission from the club that owns them. So we'd accept the offer, then he'd do the chatting to Dean Smith / visiting the training ground / discussing money stuff? Don't get me wrong, he's definitely off, but its not guaranteed at this stage that it is Villa! He could well decide to hold out for better, or still be hoping that Arsenal match our price? Just a matter of timing on announcements now What has been confirmed though? That we've accepted a bid from Villa, or that Emi has agreed terms and actually signed a contract with Villa? They are different things. Emi could verbally agree terms with Villa, but until he's signed on the dotted line another club could make a move. Arsenal, for example, might make another late move? I can remember when Ryan Bennett was on his way in the car to Swansea before turning around to come to Norwich after we improved our offer. I'm just holding out on the hope that he u-turn's and joins Arsenal at the last minute. As he deserves a bigger platform, even if they are currently no better than Villa they have a global reach, and I'd be well chuffed to see Villa fans gutted.
