Canaries north 155 Posted May 23, 2021 We all dislike that lot from porta loo road and for good reason. But is their another team you dislike just as much bordering on more. I have laughed at my Watford friend for the last 5 years for his hatred of plucky little Bournemouth and could not see why his hatred for them was the same if not more than for Luton. After our game at Carrow road I started to see it and after yesterday I am fully with him. It looks like I'm not alone from thing's read on here and online from supporters of other teams. We have had teams who were overly physical before and teams who we didn't like for buying the league but has anyone known any team cheat, dive and use s housery to that level. Also it is under 3 different managers so is it ingrained in the ethos of the club. Thank God we will not be playing them next year.
Canary73 291 Posted May 23, 2021 We know from experience that not getting promoted at the first attempt can be costly. Firstly, Fulham, WBA and Sheff U should be there or thereabouts in the top 6 (unless one does a Sunderland style implosion), then there is the possible fire sale of players and churn of manager and other staff etc. It depends how they use their 2nd year parachute payments but Bournemouth's ability to attract players is probably going to come down to their wage strategy. It is convenient for them that the EfL seems to have forgotten about their breaking of FFP rules. I can seem them struggling to be competitive.
Ken Hairy 4,206 Posted May 23, 2021 I've hated Bournemouth for years, never understood the "plucky" ****. Would love to see them plummet back down to the basement league (or further). Glad everyone else is catching up.
Canaries north 155 Posted May 23, 2021 Strangely I don't know any Bournemouth fans but I wonder how they feel about their players behaviour. We all hold a level of bias even if we won't admit it but I'm sure even with that said I would have been embarrassed with that behaviour yesterday let alone what they have done before. Branston Pickle 4,059 Posted May 23, 2021 (edited) I don’t have anything against Bmuff - I recall going to a game there when they were headed out of business and supporters were handing out “save the cherries” car stickers. That a few at/following the club have turned a bit ‘Billy Big Bollox’ is probably only natural. Edited May 23, 2021 by Branston Pickle

HazzaJet 265 Posted May 23, 2021 With Leeds, West Brom, and Fulham all going up last summer one advantage for us this season was that the only main threats for us were Watford, Bournemouth, and probably Brentford. I think Bournemouth will find promotion much harder next season as they will probably have to put up with West Brom, Fulham, Sheff Utd and Brentford if Swansea win the playoff final. Failure to bounce straight back up can also cause you to lose some of your key players. Depends on who the relegated teams lose this summer and how they react to relegation
FenwayFrank 2,621 Posted May 23, 2021 I would imagine there will be a few Bournemouth players that will feel they’ve done their bit by giving them one season in the championship but won’t want to give them another. Keeping Woodgate won’t help them either

Greavsy 2,584 Posted May 23, 2021 Have to go down to get a free kick / pen, players go down softly and get accused of diving..... Why with the quality that is var do they have to go down for a foul to be spotted /given?

But I don’t think anyone wants to see fouls given just for contact alone, it’s only if the contact is enough to impede / obstruct the player or knock them down where it should be a foul. Which is obviously why players just throw themselves on the floor at the slightest touch. Need to introduce retrospective bans for all diving / exaggeration / playacting, it would be so easy to implement. Make it a 1 game or even a 3 game ban. I don’t care if its harsh; come down hard on it and the whole culture would eventually change. I don’t know what the officiating authorities are waiting for really. Greavsy 2,584 Posted May 23, 2021 Totally agree and would only have to do it for a few players, and you'd hope the rest would cease.

They always pretty much filled it in the Premier League pre-covid.

Brooks gloating in a Brentford players face when 1 0 (2 0 on aggregate) time wasting from the moment they scored. Goal keeper going down twice claiming a free kick when it was his own player he had contact with and wrestling the ball off Toney after the penalty. General s housery all game long. It's up to those in charge at the club to stamp that kind of thing out. Disappointing to see the way their players behaved in both matches against us, as well as what I've seen from them in other games, but really, if the manager and club culture keeps their feet on the ground, then it would not happen. Once ingrained in a club, it is difficult to get out of, so keeping the players humble is important - and if fans see that humility, they will be more likely to be the same. First Wazzock 971 Posted May 23, 2021 I didn't watch anything from the play offs until tonight. I couldn't be more delighted that Bournemouth lost to Brentford, who totally deserved he win. I also hope they beat Swansea, who took the lead from a free kick that should have gone to Barnsley in the first place

While I don’t like the player, the disciplinary panel heard that video footage couldn't confirm that he had bitten his opponent and Lerma said he wears a mouth guard which would prevent him from biting.
