sgncfc 1,330 Posted May 15, 2021 What is most staggering about this interview is that his "highlight" of his 8 year stay is a play off game they were completely outplayed in 6 years ago. They went a man down because Berra handled a goal bound shot. The teams that day - ours contained Ruddy, Redmond, Hoolahan, Howson, Jerome etc. Theirs contained, um, Mings and some others. They never came remotely close to "matching" us that day or on any day since.
alex_ncfc 686 Posted May 15, 2021 It was embarrassing how "not close" that game was as a contest. But then what do you expect, he'll be deluded as the rest of them after having to spend 8 years living in that dump.

crispeduk 282 Posted May 15, 2021 Live way north of East Anglia and clearly recall at the time showing neutrals what the deluded ones were even then saying after the second leg …. they thought it was a spoof.
Branston Pickle 4,150 Posted May 15, 2021 I do remember we were a bit concerned at half time in that second-leg - they’d come to stifle us and it was working pretty well (though Martin had still come closest to scoring)...the thing is that this was all they had while we were capable of stepping it up. We did that, they couldn’t match it and lost comfortably. Rewriting it as them being unlucky is just ridiculous.

Graham Paddons Beard 2,791 Posted May 15, 2021 Is this one of the many players never to beat City and now been released? Apart from Captain Fistpump I don’t really know any of them. And I only know CF because he was so abject and seriously thick ( as mince )
Chelm Canary 404 Posted May 15, 2021 As bad as that satirical interview with Chambers.
Petriix 3,219 Posted May 15, 2021 As I recall it they just about matched us for 3 halves and even pulled one back after going down to 10 men. We were obviously the better team but they did cause us some problems and it was a hard fought win. I'm not sure why people need to be mean. It was their biggest game in the last 20 years. Let them remember it with pride. 2

The second game at Carra was fairly balanced in the first 40 mins. I think we would have edged it but it goes to show with 10 men and getting that equaliser they weren’t push overs. First Wazzock 1,014 Posted May 17, 2021 Q: How many Ipswich fans does it take to change a light bulb? A: None. They just talk about how good the light bulb was 40 years ago.
