Play off a big man

Recommended Posts

The manager describes Earnie and Johansson as both being players who play off a big man.So that''s it then. Everyone will aim for Thorne''s head and the other two strikers will pick up the nods and flicks. This is 1970s and 1980s style. The problem is that defences have improved against this - two six-foot-plenty central defenders will head everything away, Thorn will have the kind of cranial battering that Ashton had. What happens if Thorne is injured? What big man will step into his place? Or will we magically, surprisingly and instantaneously convert to a passing game with the ball on the ground, which Earnie apparently prefers?

Thorne ain''t Ewan, been injured and ill unlikely to be effective, has not looked good in the few appearances he has had, only at City because he was free,  would you rather have Alan Lee up front certainly caused problems last week.  Worthy straw clutching again, it won''t payoff.

If Worthy wants a big man upfront i''ve got a suggustion? Does anyone remember I think it was Dagenham''s Physio last year or the year before in the FA or League Cup against Norwich at Carrow Road. He was big! He run on the pitch to do physio things and saluted the crowd when we sign ''Who ate all the pies''. He''s a ideal front man!
