First Norwich City souvenir

Recommended Posts

Bought or given. Full kit on Yarmouth beach early 70’s by my father for me before my own rosette and sticker purchase soon after. Was very lucky to have family contacts at Admiral soon after and got kits on my lap on tap.

What was your first magic moment to have pinned on you or wear?

I remember having a promotion 72 Penant and a Wembley 73 Silk scarf. The latter would be worth a few quid if an expired battery hadn’t leaked on it .

Grandmother knitted me a yellow and green scarf that was about 80ft long.

Ha my first scarf was homemade  too, my mum kintted it and my sisters added players names  in the opposite  colours . My first  shop bought souvenir  came from  the shed/ shop behind the Barclay ...an enamel badge for 25 p ish.

Had a Yellow and Green rattle which sounded like a machine gun in 1948

Went to see City play Notts County think Tommy Lawton played about 37000 in the ground and no trouble

Same as Daly. I had a Y&G rattle that would wake the dead and you could only use it if you were down the front of the River End.

I still have the top one, FF. It was my first souvenir. Not sure where it was bought or when though!

I would guess mid seventies, was there a place on the market that sold that sort of thing ?

It was definitely mid/late seventies - could have been the market. I just don’t remember it! I was very young! 😆

I do remember buying my first scarf from the sports shop in Sheringham in October 1984.

Was that when Geoff Butler equalised in the 98th minute? You did well to survive!

Didn't the guy with the stand near the river sell them?  I strongly suspect he uses botox as his appearance hasn't changed in years
