***** Luton vs Rotherham Official match thread *****

Recommended Posts

As there's not much else going on here today  ( 🙂 ), I thought it best to throw my not inconsiderable weight behind Paul Warne and say 'Come on the Millers'!

Currently 0-0 at Half Time and a scrappy game, devoid of quality.

It has thrown up a strange one for me. The Rotherham goalkeeper is Jamal Blackman (aged 27) and he is on loan from Chelsea. In fact he has been on loan since 2014 , at various Clubs, and yet has never played a 1st team game for Chelsea. A tad unusual. He certainly doesn't give any hint that he's about to impress Tuchel

Blackman actually had a very good game against us for Rotherham earlier this season.

I'm in a strange of position of wanting Rotherham to stay up, but not wanting them to win tonight because it would ruin the spectacle of Derby against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday. Hopefully it will be a draw and Rotherham will do the business themselves on the last day.

Only partially, surely! A Rotherham win in effect relegates Wednesday, because of likely goal difference, but Wednesday could still take Derby down with them.

Correct, but the game would be much better with both teams needing something to stay up rather than just one.

I'm watching Man City vs PSG (I have BT but not Sky Sports).

Phil Foden is a hell of a player isn''t he? Can't say I've watched much of him until now.

...and in tonight's other top game, it has finished Shrewsbury Town 0-0 Ipswich Town.

Rumour has it that Ipswich were lucky to get nil

Foden is excellent. Man City defending really well, too.

Defending is where City have really improved this season. Stones showing a bit of form and Ruben Diaz immense.

Still don't understand this false no 9 malarkey though.

He really is- just so natural with the ball at his feet.

I see Neymar has gone missing in a big game yet again.... Overrated bag of crap.

He's not missing now.... He's in the changing room!

Doh, my bad, apologies.

Agree. Neymar has been poor. (I think that is being kind)

Is it hyperbole to suggest in a few years time Foden will be the best player in the world?

It’s putting Sterling into focus. England can’t keep basing an attack around him. Foden  looks light years above.

Watching City is like watching Norwich on double fast forward.

Per BBC:  ‘Shrewsbury played out a dire goalless draw with Ipswich in their final home game of the season.’

Just as well fans aren’t allowed in at the moment, they certainly won’t get vfm watching the binners!

I watched this last night, and if there was ever a show of what the bottom of the Championship looks like, it was exactly that!
