Anyone fancy a Hitchin Town pre season friendly?

Recommended Posts

Hmmm, is there any copyright issues or is it too different? 😲

I went to the friendly the other year and it is a very, old school ground. Nice summer evening and we gave them a bit of a booting.

I suppose they could argue that they were The Canaries first.

I thought they could get around the copyright issue by removing the legs, but it turns out they wouldn't have a leg to stand on

Can't believe they've nailed this gorgeous Hummel kit, while it looks like we'll be playing in the PL with a Joma shirt straight out of the Sunday League.

Is Joma the rumour now ? (or was that just a figure of speech?)

It's going to be Joma.

Nice kit, but it looks like something Australia would wear in an ODI!

It's yellow, not gold. Although granted, it's more of a convict green than a Nodge green.

How far to Hitchin ?

Not that far, it's between Cambridge and Luton.

We’ve been known as the Canaries for so long, it’s never made sense to me that our crest didn’t feature one.” - Their Chairman.

Ah.. yes... the Canaries.. instantly I think of Hitchin Town (said no one ever).

I am the manager of Hitchin Town Ladies Reserves as well as a big NCFC fan

Hitchin are indeed known as the canaries however as it transpires Norwich adopted the nickname a few years before hitchin did

For those of you who have not been to Top Field (NCFC played there a few years ago) the ground is a similar size to Dereham Town, the town itself is full of decent pubs and a fantastic market square.

Here is a video with a little bit more about the rebrand: https://youtu.be/lNz1Q_2ZT78

For those into podcasts, this is well worth a listen as the club podcast team discuss amongst other things NCFCs promotion: https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/the-canary-club-podcast/id1523068236?i=1000518687889

The photos below are of the team and kit from this season, the reason i joined Hitchin was pure coincidence and nothing to do with the kit, although it obviously helps 😂

The new shirt is great - the ladies will look fantastic in that next season and I will be happy with the training kit, although I may have to wear some NCFC joggers!

Snap. Didn't we win about 10-0 or something ?

Can't remember much about it as I spent most of the match in the bar.

It might have only been 9.😀

I can remember seeing the Doc in amongst the crowd and one of our players kicking off at the lino only to be reminded that it was only a friendly and to calm down. Can't remember who though.
