cambridgeshire canary 7,797 Posted April 17, 2021 Sure won't be missing them, that's for sure. Raise a glass tonight to celeberate not seeing them again for at least a season shall we?

Petriix 3,214 Posted April 17, 2021 Oi! It's my job to start the mid-game ref thread... Have to say though, it's the right call. Stupid challenge.

Canary Wundaboy 1,423 Posted April 17, 2021 Was a terrible decision regardless of the red or the league. Zero intent and the Bournemouth player clearly made a total meal of it.
Petriix 3,214 Posted April 17, 2021 Pearson got the ball then Guannoulis went high into his leg. It's a red all day and we'd be howling for it if it happened the other way. It looked wrong in real time but the reply is conclusive. It's disappointing but you just can't go in with your studs up like that.
Fuzzar 1,855 Posted April 17, 2021 There's no way VAR would overturn that decision.
Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm Flailing Tube Man 4,614 Posted April 17, 2021 When was the last time there wasn't a thread made on here hammering the ref during/after a game? The referees are only doing their job, but unlike with players, everyone expects perfection. It's no wonder players behave like ****heads when they know nobody respects the only man who can stop it. Had a Bournemouth player made that tackle, we'd be furious with the ref if he didn't give a red. Foxy2600 376 Posted April 17, 2021 Chill kids - we are up! Cheating Bornmuff aren’t.... we have a wayward referee this eve but we continue to hang onto a 1-0 which can only help the cause. Not stopped 🍺 since Swansea and Brentwood weren’t up to the mark! And an exciting Moto GP to watch 2moz.... LG

Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm Flailing Tube Man 4,614 Posted April 17, 2021 Credit to the ref where it's due, he did well in overturning the offside. The less said about the original decision from the assistant, the better.

Not that, I just didn’t want him to overrule it... It looked level, I think VAR may have found a toenail to make it offside, but only saw the side on angle once briefly - and to be honest I’d rather see those decisions favour the attacker anyway. Let's be honest, toenail VAR decision or not, it was level at worst. We're still claiming Pukki was onside against Spurs (which he was, by the way) so to now claim Surridge was offside is just hypocrisy and/or yellow and green tinted glasses. He was considerably more offside than Pukki v Tottenham or that Wolves player the other week, and they overturned decisions with VAR. The ref has deigned to overturn a correct decision by a lino, however marginal, without video technology. It would stink in normal circumstances, in the context of the match it's ****ing horrendous.

Yeah I don’t disagree, I said it was level and that I wanted those decisions to be given generally. I just meant I’d rather the ref have missed overturning it, as the decision then went against us... Surfer 1,547 Posted April 17, 2021 (edited) The 2nd Bmth attacker touched it just before it crossed the line, he was very obviously offside. If he hadn’t touched it then.... Edited April 17, 2021 by Surfer
