One possibility is that we say to Emi - we’ll pay you “Arsenal” money (£70k per week?) , no relegation clause and allow him to leave if we go down (or if someone comes in the following season) . That way Emi gets his money , gets to play every week , and we get a player to base the team around for the balance of his wages . Would other players moan about breaking a wage structure for Emi? I doubt it . There is a theory that something happened during the season - he did seem to go from almost refusal to play , to reluctant player not celebrating any goals , back to a fully integrated player refusing to come off against Preston when Farke told him to at half time .
