2 points a game will do it!

Recommended Posts

If a team averages 2 points a game over a 46 game season is ensured of promotion.

Failing to get 10 wins on the bounce was disappointing yesterday and felt like a loss coming late on.  But on reflection it was a good point against a spirited Blackburn.

Now lets look at the 2 point per game situation.  Norwich have maintained this since before Xmas and can lose the next 3 matches to fall below and thats not going to happen.  Watford the only viable challengers have yet to achieve 2 points per game all season but if they win their next match will.  Swansea and Brentford are 5 and 6 points off making the necessary level to feature as promotion candidates, on form this looks increasingly unlikely.

And in the run in where 9 points ensure the magic stat is reached by Norwich with 8 games to go.  Watford need 17 points to get to 92, Swansea need 23 and Brentford 24 points from 9 to get to 92.  I believe it is more likely Norwich will reach the target soonest.

One interesting stat is Watford are yet to beat a team in top 8 away from Vicarage Rd and with Middlesboro, Brentford and Norwich to play away 92 might well be beyond and for the others its mission impossible.  Lets get the 9 points in the next 3 and go on and secure the Championship.

We've had a very minor set back with yesterdays draw. Very minor.

We've bounced back well from any sort of set backs this season. And I'm sure they will be very confident in getting a decent points return in the next 3.

Preston game will be tricky with the international games coming up but here's hoping we get through it unscathed and with some of those players not featuring too much.
