As a town fan I genuinely believe the period between the last and the next derby will be the longest in our clubs histories. The way Norwich City has developed their youth and made the Championship look easy this season is a true example of how a team should be managed. With only a brief period around the transfer window showing a slight dip, but completely understandable considering the interest shown to your players. I feel our clubs could avoid each other for a sizeable amount of time and future fixtures are likely to occur only in cup competitions.

I am a genuine Town fan 😞 see you sometime in 2030 🤞

This summer is key for you, with so many players out of contract you have a chance to freshen things up which it looks like you need.

As a club you need to forget the past, players talk about it, old club legends talk about it.

It's great you have a history but football now is so different to what it was back then and you've not adapted as a club.

I agree past is past, it doesn't give me any comfort seeing us in league 1 knowing we won the UEFA Cup in 81 when we're losing to Fleetwood.

You'll be out of business by then.

Portman Road will probably become a block of flats or some allotments, or just somewhere for dog walkers to let their pets empty their bowels.

I know I know but it would be amazing to see a derby in the premier league.

Nice to see a genuine well-mannered ITFC fan on here. I've never subscribed to the offensive juvenile nonsense; it's a game of sport & for the benefit of the region I'd love to see local derbies taking place in the top league.

You need someone running the club with a longer term strategy.

For my part it looks like Evans has simply appointed managers with a promotion or two on the CV, and then left them to it - having CEO's like Clegg and Milne hasn't helped either.

You need to address why your youth players are reaching the first team and not progressing further, as with Godfrey, Lewis, Aarons and Cantwell, or why you haven't produced a first team keeper since 2005.

This not about things being cyclical.

Previously both clubs had much the same set up, and much the same attendances. Whereas over the past decade you have regressed as much as we have progressed - and there is every sign that divergence will only continue,

At the moment I suggest the change of ownership that is needed is being hampered by Evans not getting the offers that he thinks the club is worth. Or probably nearer the truth, what he thinks he is owed.

And until that position changes I don't think your club's fortunes will change much either

Ipswich may not be good enough to go up this season, but Cook has a great record at that level so if he's given any sort of decent backing by either Evans or the Americans in the summer, then Ipswich could make a real push for promotion next year. Hopefully not, though.

Doesn't he only have one promotion from League One on his CV? I'm not sure he's as fantastic as being made out.

From League One, yes, but he's a Football League specialist. He's won a league title in each of his last three jobs; League Two titles with Chesterfield and Portsmouth and League One with Wigan. His CV from the lower leagues is fantastic.

I genuinely feel your pain, football is a massive part of peoples lives and you Town fans are being let down by your club. If you don't get out of league 1 this year I think I would go on a long term sabbatical until things improve.

Welcome, I hope you can get yourselves a structure has a properly funded and realistic plan soon.

Both sets of fans have a better season, if it includes a couple of derby games, especially when we sneak a win.

Cook has an impressive track record at this level, let’s hope he is the man.

in terms of your younger players not developing, why do you think that is, or is the initial potential just not that great?

Fair play for reaching out. It’s ok not to be ok.

I honestly couldn’t care less if we ever played you again. I have no desire to see Ipswich in the Premier League or at all to be frank. (Who’s Frank?)

But, inevitably, things will come to pass where our paths cross again. I just hope it’s far enough down the line that there are additional generations of your fans that have never seen you beat Norwich.

Joking aside, you’ve been gash this season and are still looking like you could make the play offs. 🤷‍♂️

Jubs has been hanging around this forum for a few years now.

I think he secretly wants to become a fully fledged canary, but is afraid to take the first steps...

First up: remove all the pictures of tractors and your sister from your bedroom wall. Take down all the black and white photos of 1p5wich winning something, then try on some yellow socks and see how you feel.

Enough is enough Jubs, it really is time to stop torturing yourself. Good luck!

It  makes a pleasant change to read such a sensible, balanced post from a supporter of another team, let alone our nearest rivals. Quite simply, I would love them to be in the same league as us, two derbies a season would be great as long as we continue to beat them every time, everyone's a winner. Ipswich in a higher league, we get a guaranteed 6 points every year and East Anglia raises it's football profile.

All those being friendly to the binner have obviously not had to support us through the years of them being the more successful club. By all means become friends with the binners, let the tables turn and they become more successful than us, then watch your olive branch turn into thorns.
Scum and always will be.

Pathetic. Let them rot in the conference south.
